That's a great app for those who wheel in cell-phone range I guess.

-Rant on- It not only aggravates the h*ll outta me, it's downright idiotic that these app makers refuse to see that the iPhones and AT&T are on the way out and Android is coming to the forefront of mobile operating systems. Why aren't they releasing apps for Android at the same time as iPhone?! I can't blame Apple for doing what they do because sheeple keep buying their junk. Apple has their place in the market, but mobile electronics ain't it. Eventually people will see the light, I suppose...*sigh*-Rant off-

Apple owns the sheeple majority!

Historically (check if you don't believe me), almost every single product Apple has put out has 1st generation problems, yet people will still camp out in front of a store for 2-3 days just to be first to get one!

iPhone - drops calls when you hold it like a phone! But Apple will give you a $29.95 band (the same band which is available on most aftermarket sites for between ($1-$3) to fix the problem! Uh, how about testing the phone before releasing it?

How about the brown "glue spots" between the glass layers that Apple says "will fade with time" because they rushed the units to production.

iPad - numerous issues! Try playing a video playlist. Plays one video then stops, yet the iPods do this fine. Went to a "genius bar". They didn't even know about the issue until I showed it to them! Guess they don't even go on thier own discussion board. :?

How about not being able to place it into the Apple iPad dock while it's in the Apple protective cover? Guess this is so when you knock it off the dock and it hits the floor, since it's not in a protective cover - guess what? Busted screen, more money from the sheeple for Apple. :dizzy:

Have to buy a "camera connection" kit (which by the way is out of stock everyplace) to be able to interface to it. (can you say "more money for Apple from the sheeple.") :banghead:

Never, ever, buy a 1st gen Apple product! :goink:

I highly disagree.
I have the first gen iPhone, never had a problem with it, never had a dropped call, nothing.
Given, mine is jailbroken and unlocked and I'm running it on t-mobile. :D

They need to make apps for BlackBerry and Droid. I have an 8330 Blackberry from Sprint. I have had it for nearly 3 years yeah I know its old but it works well and has held up well. I am well past time that I can get a fat discount on an upgrade but I'm waiting for the new 4G Samsung Epic to come out. I could change to At&t but I had them long ago and my bill was much higher. $69.99 for 450 minutes, unlimited calling to and from any mobile phone on any domestic carrier, nights and weekends start at 7pm not 9pm, and unlimited data and text with Sprint. At&t can't give you all that for that price.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Apple is so proprietary and user unfriendly that it's ridiculous. yet, people act like it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. There are devices on the market that will do anything an iPhone or iPod will do, do it better, and do it for half the cost....and you won't be roped into Apple's "we got'cha" world. Yet...people see the logo and think they gotta' have it. I think the Apple logo must be hypnotic or something.

Being a computer tech I have work on a few Macs and tried to get networking going with windows file and print sharing. AHHHHHH! is all I can say. they have wikis and tutorials on the internet but the ones I found all assume you know where to find all the places on the mac you have to go to change and set things up........I don't know the interface well at all so I'm still kinda lost. I figure it out after searching and banging around. Total PTA! I had some cute imacs given to me I played with those and couldn't even get one connected to my router and the net gave up and ebayed them. I will stick with windows and open source. it makes sence to me.

I apologize to the OP for hijacking your thread  It's just that I get so frustrated when I see somebody going bonkers over the latest Apple product. I really think that if consumers would take a good look at what they were buying, the quality of products being sold in the USA would be tenfold what it is now. As long as people keep buying junk, the manufacturers have absolutely no reason to change the quality of their products, simply because they assume people are satisfied with the products. If people demanded higher quality and didn't buy the junk, then all companies would either follow suit or fold. I don't mean to tick off any Apple fans, but I just don't understand how they are still selling so many units. You would think by now that iPod, iPad and iPhone users would start to see the light after saying, "Oh, I can't adjust this"? or "Gee, why can't it do this or that"? or "How come the Droid can do all this, but my iPhone can't"? Apple simply takes old technology and wraps it up in a shiny new package and sells it as the latest greatest thing - and people trample all over each other to get it! I don't understand it.... :?:

I don't truely hate apple I thing they are fine...... Just not my cup of tea!!! they do come up with inovative products. Mostly by taking old and new tech and mixing it then putting a shiny wrapper on that they think folks like and well many do. thereare many other products that do the same or close to apple's for less. I do have to give apple props for the mac book pro. I have never seen a laptop that looked so well put togther study and stylish. If it ran windows 7 I might buy it.

they also copy from others too.. not that no other companies copy. the mouse was copied by IBM, Microsoft and Apple long long ago in computing history from Zerox labs. Zerox had ground breaking ideas in the begining but they didn't patent it and showed them to others who copied. Now look where they are and would be now if they patented stuff and were not as eager to play show and tell.
