Ok, so I have a completely n00b type question, what purpose does a front hitch receiver serve?!

There really was nothing to it, remove the front air dam, enlarge an existing hole in the passenger side frame for the hardware to pass thru, and put it in....I used this instruction sheet from the Curt site..

Only advice I would give is to get someone to assist lifting it up and bolting it in, I did it myself and it was a little difficult...

You can put a d ring in it for recovery or even a winch

My friend uses his front end hitch to shuffle around and park a multitude of trailers he's got. I've seen the front hitches used to mount a snow plow blade for a driveway cleaning. Recovery attachments. I guess any hitch mounted accessery would work.

when i removed the rivets off my rainguard, it still wouldnt come off. so i left it till i got home. on the way home i pulled over to check on it and it had flown off, and ripped part of my wheel well cover off. so i was like :furious: ! :banghead: so i drove home pulled off what was left. few weeks later which was 2 weeks ago i was driving an i heard this HORRIBLE noise. my tire was rubbing against the loose wheel well. so i stupidly enough went to my tool box pulled out some snips, and cut it off (the loose part). i mean you cant notice it unless you really look but its irks me that i did it. that noise really scared me. do you think i can buy the inside wheel well cover piece????

x2 (many times over). I think part of my problem tearing them up is from the bolt head on the rear bump stop spacer puck (bolted to the top of the rear axle) on my early version JBA 2.5" lift.

We'll be curious to see what you come up with for improved rear bump stops.

Detroit,

Nice write up. In your paint prep, was there any use of primer before shooting it with the black? I think I'd like to do this in a matching (Red Rock) body color.

Changed out factory spark plugs with Bosch Platinum Plus was pretty easy.
Changed oil with 5w-20 Valvoline Synthetic Blend.
I hate the placement of the oil filter its terrible.

Das,

No primer, no sanding. I just wiped the "chrome" down with some windex and let it dry. I did end up using flat black paint, so I'm not sure if primer would help out if you went the gloss route. Either way I would love to see some other colors with the painted lights. So far I'm liking the flat black, you can't really tell because the plastic lens always has a glare on it so I'm curious to see what gloss black paint looks like. Who knows, maybe if I end up installing the halos I'll try to find some spare pieces and paint them gloss black just for a comparison...

Installed JK Rugged Ridge seat covers in the KK. They fit pretty well for being for another application. Look pretty cool in my opinion and have a little extra storage on the backs. Ill post pics when I get some daylight.

Has anyone tried a carriage bolt? The round top won't bugger up the top bumpstop.
