If you DO perform it yourself, I highly recommend a small vacuum pump that can draw most of the oil out through the filler tube unless you have a very large catch pan and a lift. I did mine with the pan full with jack stands and it's.... not the easiest thing to manuver without dumping a bunch on the driveway or garage floor. Pre-draining takes the headache away.
Also, be careful with the little filter that presses into the (I think) drain-back channel (instructions about where to tap on it and where NOT to tap on it were very useful and helped a bunch, as did the proper size plastic hammer).
Old RTV is a bear if you don't know that already. Get a bit for your drill that'll knock it off without scoring the sealing edge of the pan or case (light-gauge wire bush bit works well). Take your time and make sure the new RTV has set up before you add the new fluid in.
