I was driving my CRD the other day, and gave it full throttle after a complete stop at a light, just before entering the freeway, The jeep Shot out of the hole, with more power, then I have ever felt it had in the past 3 years of owning the jeep. This thing put me in my seat like my supra. Then the jeep, just as i was about to reach 65ish, went into limp mode, and running really crappy, much like others have describe on here, I thought it might be a boost leak, so I pulled over, Checked the hoses, etc, everything looked fine. Shut down the jeep. Started her back up, No problems. Running like normal agian.

I choked it up to a possable overboost, and a safety limp mode to protect the jeep.
Maybe the MAP sensor, had a misread, or wastegate was sticky, whatever.

But this propted me to check what codes the jeep was seeing, as i run normaly with the ORM, and the CEL was on for that.

I pulled these three codes

P0299 Turbo/super charger – low boost Mechanical fault

P0300 Random/multiple cylinder(s) – misfire detected Spark plug(s), HT lead(s), injector(s), ignition coil(s),low compression, wiring

P1267 glow control circuit low indicates a possible problem with the control relay, there by the ECM - R&R the connector to burnish the contacts, also inspecting for oxidation\corrosion.

For the P0299 -Pulled the boost hoses and checked for leaks, they were fine, although might be time to replace them soon, as i do notice a bit of stretching under boost. I do not have a boost gauge installed, but I had just cleaned the MAP sensor less then a Month ago, I doubt it is the problem, but I'm going to pull and clean agian tonight.

For the P0300 - Thought maybe it was from the one time deal with dealing with limp mode, etc, but i cleared the codes, and this came right back after about a day of driving. Still can't really explain it.

For the P1267 - Thought maybe the relay connections might be dirty, pulled it a part, clean great connections.

So, I'm thinking maybe I have a bad glow Plug? would that explain th p0300 and p1267?
And maybe a bad Map Sensor for the P0299?

Otherwise, I continue to drive it, and it drives, just like normal, normal power and everything.
So I'm having trouble figuring out what i need to do to fix this. You guys got any ideas?

Seems that you may have a misfire. I would have it looked at if it were mine. How many miles?

I have cleared the codes, after checking all my connections, and a new tank of fuel, cleaned the Map sensor again (looked pretty good tho) seems to have gone away. I can't Get it to do it agian. I got just under 80,000 miles on it.

We can't have a misfire there is no ignition system to create one, and we don't have a wastegate with this turbo setup. Just a little info. Good luck with your problem.

Can't explain the codes that you pulled, but my CRD had the same symptoms three times until I changed the filter head. One time it happened while passing a car on the interstate and had to limp off road without getting hit!

After doing some research, I think i found the problem. I believe it to be the MAP sensor. This would explain most of the trouble I'm having. As the "Misfire/Low compression" has disappeared from the list. And the low boost reading. MAP sensor might be fine now, but I'll test it according to the FSM.

This thread pointed me in the right direction.
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=51867&hilit=turbocharger+gde&start=60

I will install a Boost gauge to get a good idea what type of boost that I'm making, and see if I am over-boosting at all.

By the way, what is stock boost set to? are we talking aboiut 17psi to 20ish and 25psi peak?
