Has anyone fabbed up rear shock mounts?

I was wheeling this weekend and broke my ddrivers side off again, but this time I didn't realize it and and broke the shock and lost both parts.

The dealership does not sell them unless it's with the whole axle. I am getting ready to check through the local junk yards for a KJ now.

Also any reason we couldn't shorten up the mounts a little to hide it a little bit better?

Thanks

Any good suspension or trailer shop should have a universal mount you can weld on. Or you can always make your own and weld it on.

Get some that don't extend below the axle, more grnd clearance would allow you to used stock length shocks.

Darn Will, you did have a good time at Rausch Creek this weekend, didn't you? :-)r

After I bent mine, I toyed with the idea but had them straightened instead. Yes, get the JBA replacements, weld them to the inside facing side, and as Scott suggests, you will have to go with shorter shocks since the extended length ones will be way too long.

I am taking a set of OME 132s (not "L"s) off that have about 12,000 miles on them to replace with a set of Rancho RSX 17004s that I found. These are only one inch longer than stock (don't know if that is still going to be too long).

You want 'em?

The 17004's are about 3" longer then stock and about 2.5" longer then the OME N132's.

Yea it was a good time, did some damage to my front bumper and put all my skids to the test. I will get some pics up soon, The group I was with all had a minimum of 34in tires and I did just about everything they did, was running blu/blacks and blacks all day.

I ordered the shock mounts from Marlin and will be and will work with the guys I'm gonna have put them on to figure out the shocks and everything.

Thanks for the info.

Here's a group shot.
