I saw one for the first time, around campus (OU) on Friday night.

OMG it's fuggin' schuweeeeet

Not offroad at all, but I think of it as a Subie type car (sporty, good cargo, AWD is good in bad weather like snow/rain) even if it's not a true off-roaded.

It pounds some pavement though!

I worked for a Mopar dealership and have driven the entire SRT line up. All I gotta say is the SRT team KNOWS what they are doing. I mean if you can make a Dodge NEON the second fastest car in thier lineup at the time then you have my complete and undivided attention. The SRT-8 Grand is by far my dream daily driver. Looks like a roided out Grand, sounds like a HEMI, and will take just about anything short of a super car, yea I'm hooked. All though if you want a balls to the wall ride the $80K SRT-10 Ram is a barrel of fun. If only I could win the Powerball

i think it is a neat concept...

Would I buy one? Nope. Partly because I can't afford it. Partly because it really isn't my thing.

I love this SRT thing DC has going...turning everyday cars into incredibly fast sleepers. DC is also getting better at designing cars. I like this old school muscle car theme they got going. Those that read my posts know that I love my American cars, and what is more American then a fire breathing V8 powered rear wheel drive sedan or coupe?

The next few years look very promising as car design goes...we have V8s that get the fuel economy of V6's 10 years ago and V6's that make the power of V8's 10 years ago...better fuel economy and more power? Fuels being made from corn and soy? I think that we are heading in the right direction...

the all-new 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8’s performance numbers include 0-60 mph in under 5 seconds, 0-100-0 mph in the low 19-second range, and 60-0 mph braking distance of approximately 125 feet.

I just found these numbers for the SRT-8. Keep in mind that these things weigh in slightly heavier than the KJ's

It goes without saying that the SRT line up of cars are incredible. I've seen a few of the grand cherrokee versions running around in my area and really love what I see. SRT says all they do is inject a little "SRT steroid" into each car that is choosen.

There is also a rummor that the Dodge Nitro / Next Gen Liberty will be SRT-ified

I like it but the real let down is that is is full time 4wd... so no smoke shows at the light :( . should have made a selectable drivetrain or just kept it 2wd.

also a side note the chevy SS truck is awd also... another bummer muscle truck in my opinion.

I drove the Dodge NEON SRT as a rental car a few months back. I was the first person to rent it. It had 40 miles on it when I picked it up. Let me tell you that for a neon, that thing had some power behind it. It's no Hemi, but it drove real nice and comfy for a small car. I have yet to see an SRT-8 but would like to drive one. I dont think I would own one, b/c if i'm gonna spend that kind of money, i want an off road rig, not a pavement pounder, but each to their own...

Just make sure you can get a home equity loan for the your fuel needs. I think after about 4 or 5 tanks, you'll be saying OMG to the fuel economy (or the lack of).

Those Hemis, especially the ones with MDS are getting better gas mileage than our KJ's....

I have to disagree. If you can afford to get an SRT8 then your money problems are not a problem. I mean I agree that the gas mileage is gonna be bad. But still if you can buy a 43K jeep then you can afford $60 at the pump twice a week LOL
