Better buy a back massage vibrator for your sweetheart, she won't get the massage anymore when she rides with you.

Or, buy a Harley :ROTFL: :ROTFL:

Rev Max has the same converter and will handle up to 450ft lbs of torque for $399.00 it also has a billet front cover. Plus they can adjust the stall speed for you.

Actually this is for her's , I am doing mine next spring , because the factory TC is causing me trouble in the one she drives. I will end up with both with the same upgrades

CRD Joe,

Can you clarify as to whether you have a "new style" Suncoast based on the "euro" TC with the stronger springs or an older version?

I have not heard of any reports of shudder problems with Suncoast TCs since they upgraded the damper springs.

BTW, still no hint of shudder with euro TC over 20K miles including much heavy towing with GDE HOT tune.

If you get shudder with your SunCoast, your front pump may be bad. All of the cases brought before SunCoast have been bad pumps or wrong fluid. I have seen SunCoast even help people out with units beyond warranty, but I make no claim they will do it.
Before you tear it apart, make sure it is not a crappy road that will send the same sensation into the cab as torque converter shudder. In Illinois their are lots of crappy roads where there are rumble strips in the pavement from crappy work.
To suppress the 4 cylinder engine torsional vibrations you need either more flywheel mass like all SunCoast converters (and Precision Industries) have or larger springs like the Euro has which VM told Chrysler they should have had since day one. New SunCoast converters have both, but since the chance of the front billet cover loosing flywheel mass is practically impossible, you have nothing to worry about by not having the big springs in your dampener (unless you find a way to crank up the engine over 300Hp :ROTFL: ). Arguments saying you need both make Sir Isac Newton have a spasm or roll over in his grave.

Im sure I have the old version. It only happens very occasionally when I attempt hills at to low RPM. I know the trans was taken good care of. Any suggestions? Are you all saying that IF it happens at all I have problems?

Call SunCoast and talk to Ron Wolverton and ask if he knows some ways to check with out a tear down.
To fix the pump all you need is the Transgo kit and install the pump valve and the springs. If the Transgo has been installed in your Valve body, there will be the thicker plate that does not look like it was stamped out of sheet metal.
Refer to the instruction page illustrations below to see the replacement pump valve and springs, along with the heavy duty plate.

When I tested my Experimental TCM that allows me to lock up in 5th high at 47MPH with the stock converter, I never got any chadder, I did every thing I could to make it chadder and it would not. When I put in the Transgo kit, my front pump valve was still OK. The problem with the front pump valve is that the wonder coating they put onto the aluminum for the valve seat fails and the valve leaks and then the lock up clutch chadders. Transgo and Sonax have hardened seats in their kits to fix the problem. Ask the guy you bought the CRD from if the shop put in a Transgo kit and if they put in all of the Transgo kit including the pump fix. Sorry about the rotated photos, they won't cooperate.

Thank you. I already know the Transco kit was installed at the same time. I have no idea whether the pump fix was done or not.

If I have the European model CRD, does switching to a "new style" suncoast converter make any sense? I was thinking fuelling module and suncoast, but from what I read, the euro TC already has stronger springs.
