Well the red top finally took a crap so I had to replace it.
I didn't want to go with a store brand like duralast. (yeah I know most are made by a few bigger manufactures).
I went with a Interstate 34 but it only has 700 cold crank. Hope it's good enough ha.

What battery did you use?

Has the best warranty also.

Also check out the P4(Odyssey P1500) for the ultimate battery.

Group 34 auto craft gold from advanced auto parts. It is installed backwards because they did not have a 34R with reversed terminals. Mine is good for 800 CCa and 1000 cracking amps. Cost was less than $100 and has 3 year replacement warranty.

Another Optima, but if I had to do it again, I'd buy the Sears Platinum.

I haven't had to yet. My Optima is still going strong, and I'll replace it with another Optima. How can you beat 5 -6 years on a battery?

I'm sorry, but there is NO WAY IN HE'LL that I'm going to pay $200 for a battery from Sears.

And like the other poster said, why not get another Optima? 6 years, 91,000 miles, brutal Ohio Valley Winters, diesel vibration constantly, and my Optima is still cranking strong in freezing weather.

Sears Platinum P1 special online sale price of $129.99 plus tax..... Ordered online picked up at the store.

4 year free replacement 8 to 10 year life span, with a solid core that will shock the fillings out of your teeth. The amount of power it has is unbelievable, this battery is worth every penny.

Wait for the sale and buy the best.

Post Script: Correction the battery I used is a P4 Platinum and not a P1 Platinum.

yeah I almost went with another optima, almost! If the interstate doesn't compare then I will get with a yellow top next! Did anyone use slightly less cold cranking then 800?

Can't wait until I have to replace the batteries in my ford, double the fun!

If you get a Yellow top be prepared to get bent over,it will die about 2 days after the warranty which is only 2 years long and no prorated warranty either. No warning either when it dies, cranks great one time then the next it is gone.I had 2 of them do that and said screw it and bought a good battery, the Odyssey PC1500(or Sears Platinum P4).

That is a great price. I'll have to keep my eyes open for the sale.

I still have the original battery and it seems to be doing just fine. When it does fail, I'll may just go to Walmart and find something with similiar CCA.
