So here's the dilema....My 04 KJ is still perfectly stock. Well.....I really should say imperfectly stock.

I've started to notice the springs are starting to soften up, especially on the back end. I've got 20k miles on it and I don't like bottoming out every time I hit a good bump with 3-4 people and backpacking gear.

Here's the thing, I do not want 2.5 - 3 inches of lift. 1 - 1.5 inches is good for me. Even stock I've driven through 10-12 inches of snow and it never flinched. I don't plan on any rock crawling, so an inch or so sounds good. I was just about sold on a set of OME medium duty springs because they say it'll be about an inch of lift. So....is that an inch after they have settled in (1-2 years) or is that an inch right out of the box?

Would I be just as happy tracking down a set of low mileage springs from a "prelowered" 02? (I'm working to buy my first house in less than 6 months and can't afford much spending.)

I just had some 01 KJ springs put in & there great the front is an inch higher & the back is 3/4 higher but I also orderd .75 poly spacers from rustys to level it out in front & it will give you alittle more than an inch lift all the way around & it rides the same & no alignment

The ome lift is really a nice lift. Rides alot better than my heep did stock. The only problem most people have is the ome lift is around $700 and your only getting 1.5in of lift. I lucked out and bought mine used for around $500 from a fellow lost member. He had it on his jeep for around 12k miles and towed alot with it by the way it sounds. Ive has it on my jeep for around 2k miles and I still have around 1.5in lift in the front and 1.75-2in in the rear. I did a small clevis lift so you may not get 1.5 without that. I got the medium(Some people call these HD, but they dont make HD rears) and the medium front. The guy I bought this off of only sold me the front b/c he was getting the franken lift on the front, so I bought the rear springs new and this made the jeep really high in the rear until they settled about 1k miles later. After I did the clevis lift and they settled, its perfect. 1.5in of lift really makes a big difference off road, you wouldnt think it does though. Pm me with any other questions+pics if you like!

I sprang for the OME lift just after it was released. At that point my Libby had less than 12k on the odometer, and I wasn't happy with the ride. The life gave me about 2" of lift and a MUCH better ride!
