Have you ever added up how much money you have in modification to your Jeep? I was bored at work and decided to add it all up. Let's just say after I get the gears in this weekend the Jeep is getting cut off from the bank account for good.

Too much! I'm into this one for about $2k in mods. Mostly bolt-on type stuff (lift, shocks, rims, tires, luggage bars, nerfs, i-Pod integration, diff guard) The labor was 'free', if you want to say it that way. I really don't like to think of MY time as free. I haven't installed my Cobra yet and not sure I will even bother this time. Last wheeling we did, everybody used GMRS/FMRS radios (which we have/had with us) and my handheld RS unit would work for anything else. BUMMER! I miss the look of the 110" 'whip' installed and tuned.

Not much at all considering what some seem to spend
Just looking at say the ARB bumper, 5 Moabs, the current lift and front and rear 4.10s ( including the labor to install the rear gears) I have less than $1200.00 total.
None of that money has come out of my checking/savings accounts

I"m just getting started and don't have that much money in my rig YET. But I don't think you can put a price on the enjoyment of a hobby. Not only the better ride quality but the satisfaction you get for having done a good job (even if someone else did the work).

Well, I haven't counted it up yet, and I'm not sure I want to. And I haven't done the installs yet some I can do myself and some I'll need help with. But judging by the pile of stuff I'm accumulating in my living room. It's already more than I wanted to spend! And my check engine light just came on this mornin'...so maybe that's the message to my wallet-no more spending for awhile. Unless I have a mechanical issue to deal with but no more fun things- till next spring.

I haven't counted up the money I have spent, but like tjkj said worth every penny and I'm not done yet (I'm no where near done yet).

couple dollars

I usually didn't look, or purposely didn't pay enough attention while writing the check or whatever

I'm with those guys, it didn't really matter how much

I'm not counting... but, probably spent far less than I should have by now.

x2 There is so much stuff I want but can't afford. :( Bonus check comes in December though. Family and girlfriend are taken care of already. I think the KJ needs some presents too. ARB/winch and JBA UCAs should do the trick to double my total mod investment.

I have a lot of mods to mine, but many of them I got a really good deal on... like the rock rails, for instance. I got them for $100... when they sold for $350+ brand new. I've been lucky on a lot of things like that.

Thats the way I've done mine

well I seem to be more into this than any other vehicle I have ever owned.

so far
fumoto valve $22
PRovent $160 with hoses and clamps
GDE tune $500
Tire cover $40
New tires but I would have needed those anyway $600 something

I'd have a lift buy now if my house didn't need a new roof and oter things but the roof is done and plans and cash are being set asid for that. The lift well come by spring.
