Hi KJ'ers
I own 2 brand new, second hand KJ's - a gasser for the wife, and an oil burner for me.
I've done the Suncoast torque and transmission pump upgrade. I've also had the pleasure of a complete transmission failure (lots of iron -major mechanical failure). Rejected for warranty because I had a "non-stock" torque converter. So, did the transmission without the dealer.
I have a very nice, neat setup for a fuel filter upgrade that allows fuel/water separation along with fine filtration (images to go on the CRD forum as soon as I figure out how to get images into the system). This filtration setup uses the best of both worlds (stock and upgraded) with no holes added and one small bracket to be built.
I also have a better engine oil filter (stock mount for now) that I will also post on the CRD forum as soon as I figure out how to do this.
To not keep anyone in suspense, Donaldson makes a high efficiency filter that is 3/4" 16tpi that fits our gassers and oil burners both. I use the same filter on both our Jeeps. The part number - Donaldson P169071.
I work for the CAT dealer and am (have been) exposed to all things diesel for many years.
All the information I will submit will be positive only and things that definitely work.
If I'm doing somethng wrong here, I'm sure one of the "hall monitors" will straighten me out.
Thanks for the information I've gotten so far! Time for me to put some back in!
John (Cat Diesel)

Howdy - Welcome to LOST

do you have pictures??????

FYI - most folks that go away from the stock versions go to Racor - they include water/fuel separator and 2 micron filter - Donaldson sounds interesting.

Thanks for the welcome.
The Donaldson filter number is for a high efficiency engine oil filter. This filter uses the synthetic media for much better pore size control.
The fuel filter set up uses the stock fuel water separator, along with another filter in series. Very neat and easy install. I do have images but I need to learn how to post same.
This fuel filter setup has been on for almost a year now.
I will try and get up to speed on posting images and information in the right forum.
I may be good at thumnail engineering and fabricating things, but being right at the cutting edge of working a forum, not so much.
Regards Cat Diesel

Photos are a bit of a problem because you can't actually store them on LOST - you have to store them somewhere else and then link to them.

so you have to have the photos on an Image Shack or Car Domain
