I can't answer your question but will share my experience.
My TC was replaced under my extended warranty. I had the regular Eco tune and F37 TCM and at 32k miles with about 7k miles of that towing a 3000-3500# travel trailer with the constant shifting up and down going over some mountains. I found the standard ECO tune that gave good preformance gains when not towing was of little help while towing so I don't think it mattered one way or the other as far as the original TC failing. When the TC was replaced they found TC clutch material in the pan
With the "Euro" Chrysler TC I updated to the "full torque" eco tune along with a pre f37 tcm. This thing now has the low end thumping power that I'm sure would shread a stock TC.
My first full tank with the above configuration showed a mpg increase of 3 mpg on my typical all city short trip driving from 20 to 23 with winter fuel
I am really pleased with the original shifting patterns all of our CRD's originally had combines with the full torque tune
So after four and a half years of ownership it now drives like the Jeep I originally bought
bloodmcnally
The GDE tcm tune may be helping to avoid disaster by keeping the TC locked longer.
