I just wanted to give everyone a heads up, on Ebay they have Xenon HID conversion kits for the KJs that include all the builbs, wiring, and ballasts. I was hesitant to try one of these but there is a 2-year warrenty and the whole kit was about $55 shippped. I have to say they are by far the best investment i think I have made!! They are amazingly bright and crystal while as long as you order the 6000k kit, the 8000k look blue and cheap!

The only thing that I don't like about these kits is that you lose your high beams. Not to mention blind other drivers. :ALONE:

If I am not mistaken(could be I'm human  ) our Liberty's use a 9007 bulb in the headlight housing which has both high and low beams on it. HID kits don't have the high beam option, unless you get the ones that have either a normal bulb for high beams(might as well get silverstar bulbs) or the ones which have a magnet to actually move the filament to create a "high beam" (which from what I read are extremely unreliable)

Correct! 9007 has one bulb, two filaments.
IF you want HID, get these. Retain HI/LO beam, pass state inspection (if your state requires), MUCH easier plug and play versus Bi-Xenon versions.

AGAIN, it must be said. Using HID bulbs in halogen housings (which all KJs & KKs have) are illegal. Unless you do a Projector Retrofit (which is pricey [and just as sexy]).
Some states/counties do not ticket people with HIDs.

Why even bother if you cannot get Bi-Zenon? Do it right the first time or don't do it at all.

I have purchased and installed this kit personally on my 06 KJ, and yes it does have the high beam and low beam, only downfall is that the high beam is still halogen bulb that is off to the side of the HID lamp but still fits in the same socket, have had these for almost 8 months now with the factory headlight housing and it works just fine, they dont heat up enough to melt the plastic. also im not sure if anyone has had this problem but ever since i installed them when i turn them on i get an CEL Light that comes up as lost communication with gateway A or something like that, anyone else had this problem that has this kit installed? if i leave the headlights off the code clears itself eventually til i turn them on and then same code comes back.

That is a weird code for the CEL.... maybe it is not related?

How long did the install take?

What is involved? What happens to the original lights?
