I really am a huge fan of KJs i love everything that comes with them i bought mine with only 49,000Km on it and it now has about 87,000Km ive done quite a few mods on it but i would love to spend much more time and money still, the problem is ill probably gonna be working in Italy for the next 4 years or so and keeping the liberty off its tires for that long doesn’t really make much sense so im gonna be selling it shortly
i dont think i will be able to afford a jeep there as the fuel price is a bit too much :x

for the future though, what im really interested in is building a WJ grand Cherokee and just wanted to ask you guys whether it would be a better platform than an XJ

thanks

WJ. Possibly lower mileage ones available since they were made through 2004. Option of V8 if you want it and I've seen some nicely modded ones that worked great off road.

i'm more of an XJ man myself, never cared for the soccer mom looks of the WJ (I drove a 4x4 WJ for a year as a company vehicle and I hated it)

Hi,

in Italy you can go two ways to keep running costs down, LPG or diesel. You will find a lot of Jeep around to suit your taste & prices to suit your requirements.
KJ are very popular but also XJ are available with diesel engines as standard (VM 2.5). With a bit of luck you might even find one already done up you might want to ship back home after you finish working there.

Fil.

I really like the sound of building an XJ over there well ill probably do some surveying when I get there but the idea of not having to drive anything else other than a jeep is getting much stronger now
Thanks guys

If given the choice of an XJ or WJ gasser I would take a WJ with the HO v8. But being over there where people have sense about all things auto Id get a diesel jeep. Doesnt matter what model, but if I had my choice the JK diesel would be my choice.

Oh and that WJ is awesome!

Id still go XJ if you can get one at a good price. the body is narrower and the track is the same, also the XJ is about perfect wheelbase at 101.9 the WJ is nearly 106 same as the KJ.

More parts available for the XJ and much cheaper 35" tires easy with a little trimming and seam folding.
