sorry for all the questions i have been reading about the inmotion and gde

inmotion is a computer clone and gde is a handheld(not sure on this one)

which is the better way to go. im looking to get the hottest performance tune and would love to turn it to econo if i had to or if i ever wanted to?

As far as I know, they both retune the ECU. By "handheld," I think you mean that GDE will ship you their tune on a reader for you to install yourself.

Both are excellent tunes. The GDE Eco Tune will function with the stock TC, Inmotion and the rest of GDE's tunes will require a TC replacement. I'm more familiar with GDE, from personal experience, so I can highly recommend them. Keith is extremely helpful and their tune does wonders for your CRD.

Stay away with from all of the plug in players go for the ones that retune the ECU. I had a Scorpion tuner and it was a POS. Most people on here love the GDE i have the hot tune and it will spin a set of 31 E range (+50lb a piece tire) off the line. That is true power and shortly i will be able to swap in between the Eco and Hot tune with the tuner it takes about 15 mins and the two are completely different. The ECO is great for towing and aroudn town cruising and the Hot is for when you just feel like having fun with it. There are very few people on here with the Imotion and i am sure it is a great tune but Kieth is such a contributor to the CRD community i can't help but buy from him.

I performed back to back dyno tests comparing IM SII, GDE ECO and HOT tunes. Search my multiple posts for all the details.

Doc.

What tcm tune are you currently using? I've have pre F37 and it brought the rpms down a good bit. I read all of your dyno threads but what I know about that is only what you've written :|
How might the full torque eco tune preform with a pre f-37 TCM? When my TC was changed I updated to the full torque echo. I now have a very nice driving jeep :JEEPIN:

Joe,

GDE HOT ECU and GDE TCM (see sig). I have not tested the "full torque" ECO.

I'm using the ECO tune with stock post 11/05 build TC. The tune made a difference in how it drove for sure.... smoother, more power, less turbo lag, less smoke and more mpg.

I don't think I've ever heard of A VERIFIED failure of any kind caused by a GDE tune:?:

Unless maybe a Hot tune with a stock TC :-)r

It caused my CEL to quit coming on. Would you consider that a failure??

Tends to burn my darn tires up too... :furious:

They look the same as the newer "Euro" one. You can't tell a thing by looking at new or old.

The "euro" TC (now "standard" replacement for CRD) does not even have distinctive stickers or casting numbers. The only way to "know" you have the "right" unit is from the numbers on the Mopar BOX it comes in!
