So i bumped my 4WD today and drove a little with is in 4HI. I drove on dry pavement and a little on the E-way. Im not exactly sure where i bumped it. But the most I ran in 4WD was 10 minutes on dry pavement.

Is there anything i should check to make sure my Jeep is good?

Any suggestions?

question...
not trying to sound like a (bleeped word) but... how do you "bump" it into 4HI? I'm curious of the mechanics of doing that as I can't seem to determine a moment when my hand would be anywhere near the control for the transfer case unless i'm deliberately attempting to change it. I even have a stick shift so I'm constantly moving something around over there. and the lever itself needs some pretty definitive action (re: force) to make it move.

jeep4life7..Thanks just making sure

sota...No i dont take offense to that, but the only way i can think it happened was my key lanyard got caught on it when i got out of the car and i pulled it into 4WD, then when i got back in i didnt realize it. Thats bcz my 4WD control is very smooth and doesnt take much to pull.

And the indicator light doesnt help bcz its backwards. "Part-Time" is always on unless im in 4WD. Messed up, but no problem. Just saying, thats why i probably didnt notice.

Thanks Guys.

If anyone else knows anything, PLEASE let me know. :JEEPIN:

wild. you must have one of those special power-assisted controls.

mine while not quite requiring Thor God of Thunder to move it does require some definitive force... at least enough to let you know "yea, you did something there."

mine requires some force to pull also. I doubt I could pull it with out knowing I pulled it. I have part-time and Full-time 4 wheel with no 4Hi. You have the Command Trac and I have the Select Trac transfer case. I am not sure how long or fast you can safely drive on dry pavement with that. With mine I can leave it in Full-time all the time and not have an issue, but wouldn't unless there was atleast some rain and slickness.

If it was a short distance that you drove, you did few sharp turns or didn't hear anything binding it should be fine.
