 Post subject: burn oil?

does your 08 kk burn oil? i run 5w 20 mobil1 synthetic since day one.....seems like at 3-4 thousand miles into it im a qt or 2 down.. same for my wifes 08 camry...i run 0w 20 in hers mobil1 synthetic..any thoughts?

To thin of oil,builds up crap in the PCV valve and then makes it use more oil faster when that happens.


Switch to 5w-30 oil and change PCV valve.

5-20 is what Jeep has for our trucks. However, I'm running 0-20 in it now for gas mileage (and I'm not seeing any improvements BTW) and I have not been burning oil. My engine is 18.75K old.
