Well its like the topic says. Don't get me wrong I love my liberty! Next month it gets paid off and I'm kinda thinking about traiding it in for a wrangler. Any advise guys? I'm torn by the option. Thanks...

If you're not going to have to pay for the Liberty anymore, why start paying for something else? You'll be amazed at how much you can save fairly quickly by not having a huge car payment. If you're patient you can save up enough, quickly enough to get a used wrangler and have both, or at least save up enough to make your payments on a new Wrangler much smaller...or have more money to mod the Liberty. :2cents: :D

The options are endless, drive what you like and can afford. If you love the Liberty, why look elsewhere? I hear guys all the time that own a Liberty say they want a Wrangler :banghead: . Most have never been in one or even driven one but want one because they are told by "true Jeepers" or that blinged out jacked up to the sky useless mall crawler to get one if you want a Jeep. Drive a Wrangler, they ride like a buckboard and are a totally different vehicle. Be different, don't go with the crowd because a Liberty will come along sooner or later to pull you out. :JEEPIN:

Rent one. Then try to drive it. They're awesome ofroad, but onroad.... :juggle: (and if you get a 2 door you can forget about passengers in the backseat if you have the top on, unless they are smurfs....ant didn't bring any luggage...)

And you will probably break the rear tail gate glass within the first week. On the JK, the glass closes first, then the tailgate. :SOMBRERO:

Do what you want. Do not let others influence your decision in trading/upgrading to another Jeep. I personally would trade my KJ to a TJ. Before anyone says anything, yes I have driven a TJ before and a JK. I would go for a TJ, low miles and automatic. You can't beat the 4.0L Inline-6

My dream TJ would be a 2001 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Hunter Green

BUT....
I like my KJ too much and wouldn't do that. Plus I would buy another Jeep before I traded my KJ in.

After I paid off the Liberty, I put the Jeep payments towards paying off my credit cards. Now that they are paid off I have a very nice balance in my savings account which means that I have a lot of options open to me. I can pay cash for upgrades or I can make a very nice down payment on a TJ if I choose. Life looks a whole lot better when I am in charge of the debt. As for buying a Wrangler, there are some considerations, such as storing the top when it is not on the Jeep, lack of security and a rough ride (which I actually enjoy). As a second vehicle a Wrangler is great. As your only vehicle, you may have to make some comprises.

I wouldn't trade in the Liberty, I would keep it and buy the Wrangler. Then when you get tired of the crappy ride of the Wrangler, you can jump into the Liberty.

I have both, 05 KJ and an 06 TJ Rubi, they are both very different vehicles. THe Rubi is a blast to drive 6 speed manual (and lifted 6" and 35" tires) but I would not want it to continuesly be a daily driver.

Remember it is your money do what you want with it!!

Buy a house.

Sell it 5 years later, double your money.

Buy another bigger house.

Sell it 5 years later, triple your money.

Then buy mansion, with a big garage to park your brand spanking new Wrangler in.

Well I think I am out of that stage. Still really like the wrangler. I have put so much work into my liberty though. Seems kinda pointless to get rid of it. I found REALLY NICE wranglers like offroad monsters that were still practical enough to drive to school everyday. Another big issue is that I am only 16 and my mom is kinda sensitive towards the libby. Sometimes even upgrading it she thinks I'm ungrateful...however this is not the fact I just wish to make it even nicer and more personal... so the idea of trading it was just a no no. Oh well im very happy with the libby anyone want to help me name it by the way?
PS I will put my top down one day!!!! Even if it takes some serius modding to the kj :frankie:

I personally enjoy the libby more. The wrangler is just kind of cookie cutter.

I do believe the libby id more practicle and can be modded way better than a wrangler if done right. It was probably just spring fever and people starting to put thier tops down that made me want a wrangler... oh well its cold again so they can put them back up

After what this KJ has taken me through I will NEVER sell it. I plan on paying it off this year and starting a fund for kj parts and a new jeep. Yes I want a wrangler too. I would love a green/tan rubi 4 door as I love the look and from the looks of it the storage is larger and the rear leg room is too. Plus I cannot afford a proper GC or commander. I plan on test driving it or even renting one to test the thing out one of these days, but Im pretty sure Ill love it as I grew up on 2 door solid axle SUV/trucks. But no matter what happens the KJ will be mine forever.
