'06 KJ: Is there supposed to be some plastic trim that goes up under the front bumper and keeps road grime out of the engine compartment?

Thx

Nope. Nothing between the bumper and front crossmember.

Try a skid plate.

Buy some rubber, like a rubber floor mat for barns/garages, etc. from a place like Tractor Supply, Lowe's, etc. and make one. You could attach it to the bumper liner, and then attach it to the skid plate and it would fill the gap for you. Otherwise, there's nothing available.

Most of us like being able to pressure wash the junk out of the engine bay and with something like that in the way, all it does is hold water/mud/grime in which actually can make things worse.

I made one from an old street sign about 5 years ago that goes from the front edge of my ARB bumper down across the front skid , works great!

Yes.

But that's the pricy solution.

You could do what Tom said. Or buy one from Chip (Boiler).

boilers is pretty much the same deal, goes from the bumper to the bottom edge of the radiator support if i recall correctly

if you have a drill and a few bits, a hammer, and a step or piece of straight board or something you've pretty much got everything you need to drill and bend a piece of flashing which is all you need if you're considering it a splash guard rather than a "skid"

HD or Lowes sell small pieces of flashing or w/e rather cheap, and tin-snips are cheap as well or can just hack it with a hack saw or dremel
