i am replacing both the speed sensor and wiring harness for same. The replacement harness has two blue wires and the original wires (leading to the engine) are both white. No indication is given on either the blue or white wires as to positive vs' negative lead.

Is it safe to assume that it does not matter which blue wire connects to which white wire?
