Thanks ATXKJ for the reply!
I have actually been around Caterpillar, Detroit and Cummins diesels since the 1950s and early 1960s while growing up, where my father was a master mechanic fixing heavy road construction machinery ... even his own Ford & Chevy diesel pickups. Besides this CRD, I currently own several diesel vehicles, an 03 VW TDI that I have maintained myself for the past 8 years, a Shibaura diesel Ford tractor that I have maintained for the past 20 years, and a new Shibaura diesel Hustler ZTR mower. I have always maintained my own vehicles over the past 45 years. As soon as I learn the peculiarities of this recently purchased 05 Jeep Liberty CRD, I'll be good to go on my own. I am just trying to shorten my learning curve and meet other experienced CRD owners in the local Oklahoma City area to network with.
I have already learned a lot about these CRDs from this very valuable Lost Jeeps forum since January, and the last place I would ever want to go is to some dealership or commercial repair shop with an overly inflated hourly labor rate and mechanics with unknown qualifications.
Thankfully, the CRD that I bought was well taken care of by a Snap On tool salesman, but I will take advantage of the remaining extended warranty passed on to me that's good till December 2012 or 100K miles, should anything unexpected & expensive crop up.
I truly appreciated your reply and thanks again for the advice!
