We took in a 1997 4Runner for $1800. It has not rust, shiny paint, new tires and all window regulators are working! The engine runs like a top but the only drawback is it's probably due for a timing belt change... just went through that last month on the KJ. Right now I am driving it with a Dealer plate on it because state inspection can't happen until Monday.

I haven't decided it I should keep both vehicles or sell my KJ and use the cash to mod the 4Runner. CRD's are still getting top dollar in this market so it would be nice to have the cash. On the flip side, the CRD is so gangster it should have it's own record deal... and there may never be another Jeep like it in the US. I will enjoy getting a tire larger than 32" without all the fabrication insanity I'll admit.

For right now, I plan to keep the KJ especially with Pastafari coming up in May... it would be totally uncool to have a Toyota on that trip.

Build the Toyota and sell yours for a profit.
You'd like the Toyota crowd.
Check out I8MUD great site, (Toyota site)

Parts supply for the Toyota might be a problem with the Quake in Japan.

Yeah, the CRD is still in demand in this market...

The 4Runner was traded in at our KIA store. Like many Americans, the original owner decided that with rising gas prices, it's wise to trade in your paid-for vehicle for a 5 yr debt on a more fuel-efficient vehicle.

Most of the managers wanted to buy it and flip it for profit.

My wheelin buddy has a 4Runner. 3" Toytec lift and 285/75/16 tires. No swaybar or additional bumpstop and has mad rear flex. Front is still limited with IFS of course. They make SFA bolt on kits for em and everything. There is still room for bigger tires but he wants to regear first. Sitting next to each other the KK and it are similar in size but the wheel wells and interior are lots bigger. The approach and breakover angle are better with the departure about the same. I wouldnt mind owning one.

Looks really nice
(except for the step rails.....)

the times I've worked on yota's everything was pretty easy to get to
- but I didn't do a timing belt.

you should turn around and sell the yota. you shouldnt have any problem getting 4500 for that thing and then turn around and put that into the jeep

I've decided that I am going to put the ultimate KJ up for sale. But out of respect to those traveling so far for Pastafari, I am going to wait until after the event. I wouldn't want to ruin everyone's pics with a 4Runner leading.

So if anyone knows someone in the market or if you ever wanted to get rid of your chickish spark-infester for a he-mobile and were afraid to ask, let me know... all inquiries will be held in confidence... I'm here to help the healing begin.
