Why? Because you drive the same kind of vehicle? I'd bet most of you wouldn't have the gas money even if you wanted to. Silly. (AAA is $83/yr)

I flew over to the US to be at a M&G with other LOST members...that's 9000 miles. You think I wouldn't drive whatever to help a LOST brother out?

Yes actually I had a Lost member call me and said they would drive 2hrs to help me out if I still needed it, that is what this place is about.

Why do I need AAA, it sucks you want to try a good auto club go look at ADAC. Also I have USAA here in the US, AAA can not even come close to what they did for me and the follow up phone calls over the next weeks about the KJ. Oh and as for gas money, no I have none your right, but I do have a house and 2 cars in Germany and rent a house and have 2 cars here in the US and I pay child support for 3 kids, so no gas money. Subdolphin I have figured out what your name means, troll under water.

BTW with any luck I might be heading back to Germany soon with a new job. Maybe by the summer.

Yes that is odd, Sabine did it in a Ford Transit in just over 10min!

One of the Ring shots with the race car clocking around 9min 20 sec on street tires.

And the Jeep of course. Sorry no track shots of it, it was too late in the day and lots of delays.

Yeah, I've seen that episode of Top Gear, Sabine was born on the ring so that doesn't count imo.

The pic of your KJ inbetween a Viper, a 911, a Lotus and a bunch of M3's is priceless :jester:

Corporate are hoping he gives up and goes away, they can't risk telling the truth. That there aren't any engines to be found b/c the old Mopar is dead and the new Mopar didn't make that model... So doesn't have the requirement to maintain the parts storage.

Saying that would undoubtedly create a media crap-storm for them, after they said that current customers have nothing to fear on their warranty coverages. Unfortunately, corporate press conferences do NOT mean anything legally, so that "nothing to fear" line is total crap.

Any other car manufacturer would have been able to source up an engine in 1/4 the time, period. I hate to say this, b/c I'm not selling my CRD either... But I don't see how we can get any parts from Mopar at all to keep our engines running when they aren't providing them. I think we are on our own.

It is too bad the enviro Nazis obsoleted our CRDs only after a 2 year run, with their DPF requirements. Those CRDs sold like hot cakes when they were new. What ever happened to the GC CRD? That only had a one year run, guess it was not the big seller like our Liberty's?

They put them in the full dress modles and the price was too high.
It was said that those with that much money to spend would not care about saving fuel with a diesel :pepper:

Some new ones sat at dealerships for 2 years before being sold :ALONE:

According to Jeep, VM is having to build an engine from the ground up. Also Jeep is paying my Jeep payment as well. so by th etime this is all done the Jeep will be paid in full by Jeep. About $4000.

So there are no spares. It's understandable VM has to make one since they have replaced our R428 with the current RA428 :juggle:
I would venture to say sometimes in the future they will supply them rebuilt.

This CRD engine has to be US specs...I think that's the main issue.

The GC has a Benz engine. (2.7/3.0) The WJ 3.1 was a 5 cilinder VM.

They still build them for marine and generator sets. I would be happy to take a RA428 in my KJ if thye would do it.

Wow, this all happened in November and you are still waiting for the engine in April? Maybe? Sounds as if CRDs are going to have to be scrapped of retrofitted to a different engine in the future when the need arises? I remember the old GM diesels, when they died, alot of people just transplanted a Gasser into them, was alot easier to do back then with a tranny that ran solely on hydraulics, and engines that were not so heavily dependent of their electronics.
