the weight of that boat was 5000lbs dry. but we never pulled it empty. had an extended deck, full water tank and we filled up at the gas station before every boat trip, gas was about $1.00 cheaper by my house rather than the lake. with a 50 galon gas tank and a 15 galon water tank that would most likely weigh it down to 6000lbs :D

and yes, a trailer does weigh about 1-1.5 thou

and i only pulled it about twice with the jeep. regular tow vehicle was a range rover which was getting a new rear diff

um, well i only did it 2 times and had to drive 6 miles to launch it...thankfully where we launched it, it was not a steep incline/decline ramp or else i wouldnot have gotten it out. breaks were really weak on it

too scared to ever do that. either the engine or trans would go...in the rover, since it was awd i just locked the rear and pulled. never once slipped. it was funny cause on a few occasions guys in pick ups with 3x axle trailers and their cigg boats would spin like crazy and they would think it was the coolest thing tthat they got rubber and all. then a few mnutes later they are pulling out and you hear the driveshaft popping in the diff lol

Pulling this with mine now...
Image

I get a lot of looks backing a 24ft toon down the ramp, especially when launching alone, but she has no problems with pulling it to the water or taking it out. Most people don't realize that toons are much lighter for their size than hulled boats. The only issue is at highway speeds when the lack of aerodynamics of the flat vertical sides become a factor. Just the nature of towing a pontoon.
