Boiler has a 3/8s plate that will give 3/4s of an inch lift. Keep that in mind. I did the 3/8 and finished it with some clevis lift. But I'm a gasser so :goink:

BUT what some forget is that the bolts on a Frankenlift are not as long as stock, with a 3/8 inch plate you will not have many threads for the bolt to hold onto

Hence why the 1/4 inch plates work much better

If you just want to sit and look at it sure 1/4 inch plates will work, if you want to drive it, then don't even think about top plates for a year or more. You're going to be pretty much topped out with the Franky for a while

Not worth cutting the bolts off and replacing them with longer ones
You have a CRD, if its sagged enough then yes you can add a top plate of 1/4 inch, I wouldn't push it

I'm in the same boat....getting a Franky but still trying to iron out every last detail. Asking five million questions while I'm sure these guys are either shaking their heads or rolling their eyes. :-)r

My lift consist of parts I order from different place because heavy parts is to expensive to import from USA (Shipping cost) I manage to get a complete lift under $900 and for my side of the fence It's fracking well done.

From ARB Canada
OME 790/748 coil spring I pickup those at ARB warehouse for $332 taxes include.

From Bilstein Canada
Strut BE5-D916-H0 and shocks BE5-A702-H0 $408 all taxes include deliver at my door.

From Jeepin by All
TeraFlex bump stop, JBA 1/4 top plates, one set of rear top Isolator. I pickup my order at UPS
facility and pay a total $133 all taxes and shipping + custom duty include

So for $873 I got all I need , if I order all my stuff From JBA I get all for $978 with shipping and all taxes. I save a $100 in the process. All those parts cost only $759 from JBA It's importation taxes and shipping cost the real PITA :-( I dont know yet if I'm gone use the top plate but I decide to order JBA 4.5 arms, I figure this add about $450 to my lift total cost ($1323)

Still have to assemble the front strut and install all the stuff.......To continue...

Quick question.....if my plans are to add an ARB Bullbar in the next year.....should I go ahead and put OME 790s on the front or stick with the ones that come with the Franky II? I will be driving it for 6 months to a year before getting the Bullbar. Don't know if it will be too stiff.

Too stiff
plus I ran an ARB up front for 100,000 miles and 927s, did have to add some clevis at 75,000 but it still held them

Impressive. I noticed you had 790s mentioned on your tag. Why did you switch from the 927s?

My response above says it, had 100,000 on the first lift with 927s, was ready to try something different.
I swap my lifts and try different heights like some change their socks, it was just a next step to see how they worked. I had also just bought some two week old Frankenlift parts and so mixed things up and went for it

Gotcha. Well, I've got it pretty narrowed down thanks to you and other threads on this site. I'm now trying to choose wheels and tires. I'm not sure about using the stock KJ limited 17" chrome/aluminum wheels. Moabs seem to be where it's at. However, I'm pretty sure as far as tires go...mudders may not be the best idea on a DD.
