I have a very small leak and I think the drain plug is leaking. But I would like to take off the cover and reseal it to make sure it does not leak. But it seems like I read on here that the diff has to come out to take it off. Has anyone taken the cover off while it is still on the jeep?

I think you can reseat the cover with the diff still on the jeep, you definitely have to remove the cross member though.

Thanks, It looked like it would be close to the steering rack and I did not want to take a chance that it would not come off without a spending lot of time on it. I decided to just change out the o ring on the drain plug. I will check in a week or so and see if it has leaked at all.
