Hi,

Sorry reposted it, hoping for an answer.

I have a CRD 2.5 2003 and have a problem with the Alarm. All of a sudden it goes off !!!! Middle of the night, during the day at work... etc. It's a real pain. My wife ready to set fire to the KJ !!!.

I check the KJ for maybe a fly inside that could have set off the alarm or something else, no. The Jeep is parked where no one can bump it or hit it to set the alarm off.

Any Ideas? i have been told it could be the battery not being up to charge and therefore setting off the alarm?! Is this correct? I do about 20mls a day tops could this cause, battery not fully charged up?

Fil.

Every time my 2006 alarm goes off it is my fault and I don't even argue with my Wife on this one. The button on my Key is large enough to get bumped by other crap in my pocket, something I bump into, or another key. Once it happened when I was in the house when I was using the porcelain thrown, good thing I was sitting down so I did not make a mess. :ROTFL:
Another thing that can happen is another neighbor or car owner can have your alarm frequency in their remote so when they lock or unlock their doors, your alarm goes off. My Wife's TDI had her alarm go off when a relative of a Neighbor was visiting and every time they locked up using their remote, my Wife's alarm went off. Once we were heading to my CRD and pressed the door unlock so my wife and I could get in, at the same time the alarm in a Subaru went off in a parking lot, I drove off. Stuff happens in our modern high tech world.

Hi,I also have the same problem on my CRD (LTD) ,I havent found out what sets it off but on my model (2002) you can lock the car with the remote by pushing it once, unlock it once, which only opens the drivers door, then lock the drivers door with the key. This means that the car is locked but the alarm is not set. I do this every night before going to bed! I know that its not a great soulution but on my model it works! (+ I dont have to explain to next door why the alarm went off in the night again!) It does depend on the type of alarm your car has,& this way is listed in the Jeep handbook with the car.
Good luck :banghead:

Dave

P.S If you find the real fault please let me know,I have done this since buying the car at Christmas, think its why the last owner got rid!

I would think about what Warp said those remotes have alot of range, also I would lock it up, and give each door a good tug, maybe one of the door switches are going bad? The alarm wont sense a fly or shock AFAIK?

Try replacing the battery in the key remote. Apparently (from the helpful members of this board!) that is a possible solution, as the weak battery makes the key remote do crazy things which annoys the Jeep and sets off the alarm.
