Hello I am new to this I hope I am doing this right. I have a 2005 CRD limited with 65000 miles on it, all stock. About a week ago it started shifting from 2 to 3 hard like it would throw you through the windsheld. It only does it when shifting up, but when i turn the overdrive off it won't do it. Could it be my torque converter? Any suggetions?

Thanks James

Read the noob guide and look for the link where you can download the FSM (that stands for Factory Service Manual).

With that go to the CRD TECH section and look for the thread on doing a "Quick Learn" and look at the pages in the FSM I have listed. DON'T POST IN THAT SECTION :frankie:

Then find the procedure that covers the second to third upshift

Your TCM (transmission control module) is intelegent or maybe just dumb, anyway it needs to "learn" :JEEPIN:

Hey Joe thanks for the help! I found what you where talking about in the manual, but it is real confusing. Do I need a scan tool to do this or can I just disconect the battery?

Thanks James

You did check fluid level? Pretty obvious but since it's not mentioned I feel compelled to ask.

Checkout this thread. I had a similar issue after doing the ORM and FLCV. I could clear the codes but it would creep back up. I "backed out" the FLCV mod and ORM. took TCM and ECM connectors off/cleaned/inspected/installed, covered bare wires by EGR with split heater hose and viagra I was up and running, the jeep that is....anyway I've got the ORM mod back in place, keeping my fingers crossed.
