The tweeters are blown and I was trying to remove the panel that covers them up. I was able to get my trim removal tool in and pop off all the clips, but the edges (outside part) acted like they were still held in place. Any tips for getting access? Do the Interior 'rails' that come f/the dash to the roof need to be removed? What is holding these things on?

Thanks for the help...

I swear that if not using it were people, the search feature would be China.

The link is about half way through the thread.

I did use the search feature... always do when I'm looking for something on any message board.

Thanks for the link you provided, however I read threw it and there was no link to show how to gain access to the dash tweeters. I do appreciate the link...

I did find another link doing some google searching... and I do indeed need to remove the trim / handle grab bars part (not sure the name) in order to remove the trim piece over the tweeters.

Regards...

It just pops off. No screws. The clips might be extra tight........if memory serves me correctly. Do a search for my speaker/HU install in here (years ago). I have pics but it's been so long ago, I can't remember if I had a picture of the panel off.

Don't the pillar covers need to come off too? I thought I read that somewhere.

Yes they do. At least in my 2003 KJ they do. Otherwise you can not get the tweeter/dash covers out w/out breaking the ends.
