I dont like the color of my ARB bumper and i was wondering if anyone else out there has painted theirs. I have been pondering on the idea of using POR-15 on it or coating it with bedliner, but both will be semi-expensive and was just curious if anyone else has done this before. Thanks.

You can paint them any color you want or even Line_X them or any other bedliner.
Mines black and matches most of my KJ so never thought of painting it

I sanded the powder coat to a dull luster, sprayed rattle can primer then many cans of Rustoleum Hammered black. The final coat was sprayed holding the can about 24" away while the previous coat was still tacky to give it texture. On occasions when the bumper does have contact with rocks (really hard mud) touch-up is easy. Mine has been going strong since 2008.

Did you have a shop do that or did you do it yourself?

I had a paint and body shop do it. I think they did a pretty good job. I’ll probably do the same with my RL rear bumper or have it bed-lined, I’m not sure yet. The only way I will bed-line it is if the color is matched pretty close. The wife is picky on stuff like that.

Don't worry, ours will move out of the prissy stage and into the hardcore stage like yours.

Not HD as LineX but at a fraction of the cost,DIY also if you have a good air compressor(min of 14cfm required at 90psi).Great UV protection also, much better then LineX in that catagory.

...weren't you the Line X spokesman on here just a few months ago? :-)r

Looks good though and might be a good option here too. Always looking for a different good bedliner.

No doubt that LineX is the best, but not a DIY venture.
