Ideas to lower lift slightly?????

I have an 02 with a Frankin Lift and am going thru passenger side CV boots verry quickly. I am wondering if there is a way to slightly lower lift. The angle of the CV causes the inner boot to rub against itself and eventually split open. My last one just went after 19K miles. No real hard off road wheeling either. The angle or the shaft on mine seems to more pronounced then a lot of others I see on this board and in person.
Would softer springs Help? I dont believe I have the HD springs but not sure. Is there a plate or spacer on franken Lift that could be removed to take about 1/2" out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Probably the easiest thing to do is loosen the clevis fork on the shock body and remove any space between the top of it and the spring plate.

The above post post will only work if you have done a clevis lift, which you didn't mention. I am not very familiar with the franky, but i do know that it uses a daystar lower spring spacer. There might be a way you can take those out and shave them down so they are smaller. Not 100% sure that would work, just throwing ideas out there. The top plate is part of the system, so i dont think you can change that.

Thanks Guys,
No clevis lft, already as low as I can go, hitting underside of strut.
Will be calling ALL J to see if anything can lower it a little or if they have had others with same issue.
Does anyone else have this issue? If so what did you do? This will be the 4th or 5th boot/ shaft I have replaced since lifting and I dont seem to see a lot of others that have the same problem.
As said this one only lasted 19k which is only about 4 months in my life.

I know you've driven it on the highway, BUT have you taken it off road and really twisted it up yet? They take a while to break in unless you beat on them a little it seems.
I haven't had one issue and actually a little higher than a normal Franky , installed a couple of other Frankys with no problems either

Hey Tomudd,
Yes- Its been on for over 100,000 miles and one motor. In begining was offroad with it alot. No real rockcrawling but it got its fair share.
Latly not so much as I have been trying to make boots last as long as I can. The inner CV on passenger side really rubs against itself on the bottom. On one set I took off the lower boot clamp and pulled the boot down a little and replaced with a hose clamp and that seemed to help a little. Saw alifted one yesterday, he had same lift and some clevis and his axle was almost straight were mine is on a angle that causes boot to rub. Never had a CV go, just the boot.

I'll get a pic of mine for you tomorrow, of course I just lowered mine back down some. What do you measure from bottom of the flare to middle of the wheel?

It's hard to tell, but here are a couple I had.

This is when I had a little hole in the boot.

This was my temporary fix.

This is to much air in the boot from NAPA.

This is when the boot ripped completely through.

Are those pics with tire on the ground? How often do you go thru boots? Have you been able to do anything to make boots last?Your first pic looks like mine does.
The pic that says it has too much air looks like it wouldn't rub against itself as much.
Anyone else with same issue?

I have a ripped boot on the passenger axle after only two months, and haven't been offroad a single time. But I attribute the problem to the chinese quality boots used on auto parts store-grade CV axles, and not the angle caused by the lift.

If you still want to lower the Jeep, you could do what I did on my ZJ (and used to be very common practice back in the old days) and cut the coil springs down a little bit at a time until you get the desired ride height. If you do this, take only small amounts of spring out at a time...because a little makes a lot of difference.

You could take the front apart, remove the spacer, put it back together and you should have a normal, OME lift.

using the stock isolators of course

and those who talk about cheap Chinese boots, I've never had a bit of problem with them at all. Mines up there a ways and no tears rips, runs or wrinkles

22" from wheel center to front edge of fender flare.
How long are struts good for milagewise as I have over 100k on the ones that came with the Frankie.

I posted something on the boots, I thought it was this thread. Apparently not, lol.
All the pictures are with my Jeep on the ground. And shooting slightly upward.

I've only replaced my CV once. I only replaced one boot. It was the NAPA boot.

One boot ripped on my original CV, I don't know how it happened, and I didn't catch it early enough so I had to replace the CV.

The second rip was from the NAPA CV. The boots are noticeably thinner than the Mopar boots. It is definitely possible that I pinched the boot on the inside when installing the new CV, and over time it ripped completely through.

When I replaced just the boot on the replacement CV, I used the Mopar boots because it was worth the extra money (they were only about $35).

At 22 inches you should not be having any issues with being too high, all that I install here I sit them up at 22.5 or more I've been running mine at over 23 now for a long time
Your front "shocks" are more than likely needing replaced, my first lift I ran for 100,000 miles and they were still good but getting weaker

My frankenlift sits the front at 23.5in (pre settled). I have no clevis or top plates, just a frankenlift premium from All j. Only been about 750 or so miles.

If my weight had anything to do with it i'd be looking to raise it not lower. (haha though)
Would realy like to see other pics of CV angles though. Like I said muine seems to be more angled than most I see. (At least as bad as the first pic in infericus' post above.)

What would replacing shocks do? I am pretty sure its from rubbing on itself. Were you able to find pic of your CV angle?
Any body else have pics or repeated boot rips from rubbing?
Was thinking of trying another fron only Franenlift to see if it sits alittle lower, expensive experiment though (especially if comes ouit the same).
Liquidxit2, Any pics of CV angle?
Just found out my job area will be doubling soon so my driving miles will be increasing greatly, which could mean my boots will only last two months now.

Now in "Find web pages that have..." section, enter the search terms and criteria.) to do a search (posted by Bugnut)
and found a lot of stuff on torn CV boots.
It amazes me that some have so much trouble and others none.
If anybody that has problem like mine and found a cure I would love to know.
If your between NJ- ohio- and or West Virgina I'll stop by on my next trip and by you a beer.
Realy don't want to give up on lift, but going thu boots like crazy due to work milage.
