Just curious if any of you guys have this issue after lifting.....

I noticed a rotational squeak about a month ago, did some research and replaced both rear driveshaft u-joints based on what I found. It then went away for a day or 2. Since then, it will come and go(usually based on the weather, but lately it's just being inconsistent) and annoy the heck out of me!

A couple days ago, I jacked up the front driver side wheel and give it a spin. Sure enough, as soon as a certain spot on the cv cycles I will get a nice rubber rotational squeak noise(from the boot on the differential side.) Is there anything I can do other than replace a cv? I am going to try to clean and lube it up but I doubt that will fix it.... :?

A little update.

Jacked the front end up and started spraying a couple things. Sprayed the inner cv boot......still squeaks. Sprayed the outer cv boot.....still squeaks. Spayed where they cv meets the hub/wheel bearing.... stopped squeaking. So it seems like I have found where my noise is coming from, I just hope it don't come back now! :banghead:

I definitely do not want to replace a wheel bearing at 58,800 miles! :?

Anybody got any recommendations on a wheel bearing brand? Was looking around and pricing some.....wow...

I could get a National brand for about $160. Others suggest Timken wheel bearings. How do they compare?

No ABS so I don't have to worry about the sensors! '

Thanks for the input!

Just ordered 2 Timken front wheel bearings for $250 shipped 2 day from http://www.stockwiseauto.com. Highly recommend them. Autozone wanted $212 before taxes for 1!!

Will be installing when they come in! 8)

Your wheel bearing are going bad on you? They should be lifetime bearings. (WELL YEA I KNOW IT IS A KJ AND IT HAPPENS.) I myself have an 03 KJ and when I lifted mine a few weeks later I had all sorts of issues. I replaced 4 drivers side CV's and half shaft along with 1 passangers side, 2 front drive shafts and 1 rear drive shaft with 3 sets of U joints, front diffs and transmition.
I installed the frankenlift II HD series and I ended up with a 4" lift out of the box. When it settled I had 3 3/4 " lift which put very hard stress on my entire drive line and my CV's were so out of specs that I could not get a proper alighnment. I would replace my cv's more that my oil. I got so tired of it that I just removed it and put the stock suspention back on.
it sucks because my KJ looked MEAN!

Just curious to what symptoms were happening to lead you to replace all that stuff. If I were you, I would have dropped it down 1 or 2 inches.

month after month i would hear a new squeak, bang, clunk, whistle, click, chug and hum. I should have not used the HD coils which gave me more lift. I was so far out of specs that the entire drive line suffered stress and damage. after replacing each item, that monts noise would go away untill a new one arrived a month later. so after all this I decided to just remove the lift and ever since then, i had no problems.
