Best hose for EHM?

I did the EHM back on Oct using black heater hose from Advanced Auto Parts.
It is already getting soft and strarting to deteriorate.
What kind of hose can you guys reccomend that will last longer than a year?

I used a clear hose from home depot cost me maybe about $6 i have had it for about 2 years now with no problem

The clear vinyl hose DFTG039 used is probably ok although I'd go with the reinforced version. It's not truely designed for petroleum product contact but I've used it in the past for motorcycle gas line. Alternatively fuel line will do but you would likely have to go to a marine supply place to get large line. Heater hose is designed for water/antifreeze contact only so I'm not surprised is went soft.

I think that the hose I used for the "Provent" was the brand Flex-Loc.

I just used heater hose.......it seems to be holding up fine after ~3 years

The best would be an Aircraft grade 19mm ID woven titanium jacket with a urethane liner.
A 19mm ID jacket made from Kevlar fabric with a urethane liner would be almost as good.
Low pressure hydraulic return line hose would be third place and a lot easier to buy.

I used clear hose from lowes, I got the reinforced version though. It's a tight fit so I didn't use a clamp. I like the fact that I can see threw it, and if there's any oil hanging out in there.

I'm going to follow your advice with the 3/4" hydraulic line as I'm hoping that my local Napa will have it in stock. I just looked at my CRD and it appears that this should be a pretty fast and easy mod compared to the CCV re-route I did on my Powerstroke yesterday. I'm just going to pull the hose from the puck and put a plug in it and then run a new line from the puck down and route it to the exhaust where I will have a bung welded into the exhaust behind the Cat.

Would this be a fire hazard? This hydraulic hose usually has a max. temp below 500º and the exhaust at the near downside of the cat would probably exceed 1000º. The exhaust would also produce a positive pressure on the CCV "drain" instead of a neutral or negative pressure that is needed. I'm no expert by any means but I'm not positive that this will work. Or did I misunderstand? I've done that before!

Well, as it turned out, Napa didn't carry the hydraulic hose so I had to go with the 3/4" heater hose instead. Then I called my muffler mechanic and he didn't recommend plumbing it back into the exhaust for fear that condensation could find it's way back into the CCV hose and cause problems. so for now I routed it back to the rear axle and found a filter to put on the end of the line and I'll see how that works out. I'm just glad to rid that oil of entering into the intake and corroding the intercooler hoses.

X2 on Hydraulic return hose. When I used the reinforced clear stuff from Home Depot, it got hard and failed. When I used heater hose it turned into goo.
