So what do you guys think about a KK with A pillar lights? I just started looking at mine to see how difficult it would be to fab up some mounts. I think it look pretty do able. Please share your thoughts Image

You got it. I'm going to start measuring this weekend. I think I have a pretty good plan that will involve no to very little work on the vehicle itself. Just have to remove some stuff for access. I will let you know how it turns out.

Well. It ain't gonna be as easy as I thought.... Like that's not a surprise. I should have my first go at templates done today and will try to fab something up over the week for a first go round. You know what they say "measure twice, drill once". This is gonna take awhile.

Well it may not be so bad. I've got the template made for the drivers side but it's freaking hot here in AZ so the passenger side is gonna have to wait. Hopefully I can use the metal shop at work one of these nights to make my first go at the drivers..... I'll keep in touch.

Thanks to Rock Lizard for the above images. He made these for the Cherokee. This is the look I am shooting for.

I think they would look pretty good. Excited to see what you come up with.

Iirc there are wires running through that pillar for the side curtain airbags. Be careful!

10-4 on the airbag wires. I think I have them spotted through the mount holes for the interior cover panels.

Next weekend I start the fabrication. I think I have everything mocked up and fitted. I will be sure to post pics. Good, bad or indifferent.

I'm very interested to see how these turn out. I've been thinking about fabricating brackets to mount on the quarter panels if these don't work out.

Sorry guys. Time is my enemy at the moment. I've got the sheet metal now and the prints laid out. I should be able to do some cutting and welding this weekend.

I don't know man..... They weren't difficult.... but they kinda came out as a custom fit deal. It didn't take much to do them. I bought a 3 foot section of 1/4 inch steel from Home Depot. Rolled it over a propane tank to get the correct amount of curve on the A-pillar, then cut the out the piece to fit. Then I just cut out a top section and used a grinder to get the desired shape. Once that was done I welded the mounting plate for the light to the top of the A-pillar mount. Then some sanding and painting followed by the emotional process of drilling holes in the Jeep. Screwed the completed pieces to the A-pillar, mounted the lights, ran the wires and Whall-Lah!

Yeah that doesn't sound too bad. My problem is that I have no access to a shop with welding materials :banghead: All my stuff got left on the east coast
