Problem then is you get stuck with a engine that cracks heads(if 4.0 I6) for no reason and can never hold engine oil from the valve cover, oil pan,and rear main seal.

While the early 0331 heads have a reputation of cracking, and its not entirely undeserved, most people, yourself included, greatly exaggerate the problem.

You also greatly greatly exaggerate the valve cover, oilpan and rear main seal leaks.

Well its all over! Picking the WJ up tomorrow or the next day and from what Im told its paid off. I have to say Im very grateful to be able to have a nostalgic jeep that means alot to me (more then just wheels and engine) and Im even more thankful of my wifes generous family who agreed that I was a good candidate for it.

The plan? Well I plan on driving it here and there as well as the wife will and save up enough dough to get a nice HO 4.7 with heads done and rebuilt 545rfe (hopefully I can acquire the HO parts and rebuild the current engine) . She will also see a IRO 4 in and 32s and other goodies. Plan is to keep the WJ and KJ for the long haul. As long as they are running and there are 4.7/3.7 parts running around they will be our jeeps.

Plan for the KJ is fill main DD status here and there until the WJ is 100% ready for the KJ tear down. Thinking I might turn the KJ into a purpose built rig and one day SFA and turn it into a 4 seater farm truck.

Where is all this money going to come from? I havent a clue! But I do know the jeep is my last debt other then my house and it will be paid off no later then January 2012. My guess is the kid will take all my extra funds...but hey a man can dream and I sure wouldnt be sad with some 31s/bolt on performance and thats it.

No matter what happens I am one lucky SOB!

Thats awesome! Basically how I feel about the jeep. Family heirloom that will NEVER get sold! Also very cool that he ran moonshine, grew up in the south and never had straight moonshine (I think Im the only one..). Maybe one day.

His peach recipes still cookin' it's the only one I maintain or have any interest in, uncle and a few other people still cook the other stuff, sour etc

but the peach.. MMm.. clear as water, smells like peach juice, tastes like peach juice.. then a brick forms inside your head and smacks you in the back of the eyeballs

it's good stuff :P

Im going to have to head down there and try this...

The closest I have to that is my grandpa used to brew his own root bear, make ice cream and he makes a mean egg nog that will knock you on your butt quickly!
