my wife would like me to add a single subwoofer to her factory radio.
what is the easiest/best way to do this?

i had my sub hooked up to my stock radio in my first car for a while

i just had to buy an adapter at best buy or something. If I remember correctly, I just had to splice one side of the adapter into the speaker wires, and then the other side of the adapter had RCA red and white connectors that you plug the amp into. there may be one that comes as a wire harness adapter which would be easiest.

the adapter is cheap, so the majority of the cost will be the sub and amp.

beware tho, this type of setup is not ideal. it wont sound the best, but if it makes her happy then it would be pretty easy.

That's what I figured.
I did it once with I believe a scoche adapter.

Is there any other way?
Or has anyone done it this way?

my KK is currently wired with a step-down, which is the way mentioned above. it works just fine, you lose a little bit of "punch" and control with the factory radio, but nothing too major. I'm running a 12" MD Sound subwoofer in a ported box tuned to 33hz. I think i still metered at 130.0 or something like that. just make sure you tag the correct wires when you install it, and have a good ground for the step down if necessary.

i still highly suggest an aftermarket radio that has decent EQ controls but to each their own.
does your wife's KK have an amplified sound system? (infinity, sony, or whatever it is chrsyler is using these days)

Nothing special that I know of.
It's a base 4x4 sport.
Automatic is only option
