sorry if i'm becoming a pain

i decided to clean the MAP sensor and do the ORM after work today. both went fine, but when i started the jeep afterwards i noticed 2 things:

1. the CEL did NOT come on as expected - does it take a while sometimes?

2. the shutdown was very rough (jeep shook as the engine went off) - is this normal with the MAF unplugged?

thanks again

Sure you unplugged the MAF?
Check out the posts and pics in the CRD Tech section and verify, there is another sensor very close that some have unplugged in error. The engine runs like crap too.
I never had a problem with the ORM, engine runs much better.

the only plug i could see on top of the airbox (has a little red release latch), is that the right one?

would it be a problem if the MAP sensor was still a bit damp when reinstalled?

Ummmm, what did you use to clean it?

Another thought - are you sure you got the harness fully engaged back into the MAP sensor?

i just used a soft toothbrush and water to clean the MAP sensor

i went and double checked, the wire harness is plugged tight

should i take it out again to dry better - it wasn't dripping wet or anything, but probably damp, i would have left it out longer had i thought about it

took it out after work today and everything was fine - CEL as expected and drove great.

i am pretty new to tinkering on my vehicle so i am probably pretty paranoid of something going wrong. thanks guys.
