p0725(transmission pump?)
p0700(said it twice for some reason) Apparently TCM related.
p0102
p1261(gp #2 i think?)

so frustrated. couldnt get it started after lunch today until i kept trying. get back to school. get out after class, it starts after a slightly longer cranking time, then i drive away and the darn thing feels like the transmission is slipping like crazy. stopped on the side of the road, turned off, restarted, and it was fine again but the starting was also slightly drawn out from the normal instant start. I am thinking crank position sensor for the starting issue, but the tranny has me flustered.

help diagnosing please?

Yeah i did that for 10 minutes and still no fuel came out. never had an issue over 156k miles with the fuel filter/head(yes the filter was replaced). Which leads me to think its a bad sensor(s).

Just in case I'll ask what may seem like a rather obvious question - when you were pumping the primer bulb did you have the bleeder valve closed? This is a pressurized system that has to be bleed just like brakes; pump; crack bleeder; close bleeder; repeat. If you pump with the bleeder open nothing much will happen.

I ask because I've seen several threads where someone tried to bleed by pumping with bleeder open.

ill try at my hand at it again later tonight. i pumped with it closed, then with it open. didnt have the right tools with me at wendy's to do it properly.. but i sure as hell will carry that socket now. any idea on the codes though?

Pop into Sir Sam's NOOB guide, scroll down to the FSM link; go there and get a copy of the 2006 FSM (the 2005 FSM lacks the diagnostic codes). P0725 is Engine speed sensor (IMHO a fancy way of saying your engine stalled but it could mean more); P0700 by itself doesn't tell you anything except that there is an active code stored in the Transmission Control Module; cannot find any info on P0102 or P1261.

Frankly I'd start at the most obvious problem and solve it first. Assuming you have fuel in the tank and you are pumping the primer bulb until it gets hard before opening the bleeder and are not getting any fuel then you have a fuel delivery problem that needs to be solved. Since the system won't prime if there is an opening "upstream" from the fuel head before pumping the bulb you need to make sure that the bleeder screw is closed (put you finger over the hole while pumping the buld - if you feel pulses of air the bleeder is not sealing properly); that the fuel filter is fully seated on the fuel head (if you recently changed it did you leave the old gasket on the screw on post; if so the filter is not seated properly) and that the WIF sensor on the bottom of the filter is properly installed; and that there is no air leak upstream from the fuel line leading out of the fuel head (try pulling that line; installing a short length of hose on the fuel head output with a plug in that hose; then try priming). If none of these indicate an "upstream" problem then I suspect you need to trace the fuel line back to the tank looking for a bad or disconnected quick disconnect fitting including the ones on top of the tank.

Bottom line is until you have fuel to the engine you really cannot deal with whatever other codes you have.

I am assuming of course that the engine is not making "bad" engine sounds and that your timing belt was replaced at the appropriate interval.

timing belt was replaced at 120-130k without issue. The thing is, once its started, it runs perfect(assuming the tranny works fine) like theres no issues at all. Doesnt seem to be starving for air nor fuel. Hence why im thinking that its a sensor issue on the start up.

Confirmed that I have fuel. Bled the valve and behold diesel flew out. Is starting fine now but I still have a bunch of codes. Going to see if I can recreate it once it gets hot.

Disco'd battery and removed all of the codes minus po750. which i think is the wheel speed sensor. will be updating whether they come back or not, but i've restarted, driven around and jokingly wheeled a little to make sure they werent coming back.
