Today I did the EHM on my 06 CRD. I ran the hose down under the jeep and tied it off to the brake lines. Now my concern is that when running it looks to me like there is an excessive amount of blow by coming out of that hose. Its like a mini exhaust pipe, lol. Is this normal or is there something else wrong?

Check your oil. Are you full to the tippy-top of the gauge? That might be your source, these are notorious for not having the right length of dipstick, and adding too much oil after an oil change (it takes 6.4 quarts IIRC) means you end up with the engine trying to "find it's own level" of oil, and spitting the rest out.

It sounds normal to me tho, I have an EHM as well, and right after an oil change it seems to be blowing more out. There is a LOT of crank case venting that happens tho, that part is normal.

Sounds normal to me. Run it out a stack and it would look like a small locomotive. :-)r

I think someone here did that. Just beware of it freezing if you live somewhere really cold.

When I first did my EHM I too was unnerved about the amount of blow by, it was really obvious at night with lights behind you. Now if I don't see smoke I wonder what is wrong.
