Hello, I have an 06 renny , I love the looks and the color but have never felt my driving position was ergonomic for me. I am constantly adjusting the seat and the steering wheel and never feel it is just right and I"m only 5"9 with an average build. I have never been inside a KK so was just looking for some personal experience's and or opinions

The Commander has more comfortable seats than the Liberty. My cherokee has more comfortable seats than the Liberty.

A guy at work recently traded his KK for a Kia Forte..... Gasp. The complaint about the KK was the seats were not comfortable and pinched up on the back of his legs during long drives, like to Florida. Not rode in a KK so cant say myself.

Drove around yesterday concentrating ( very rare) on my driving position. Like others here if i can get the steering wheel to be about 1.5 to 2 inches closer to me that would definitely help. At the same time have the gas and brake pedal about an inch to the left. Its not so much that the seat itself is uncomfortable. Hmmmm i wonder if a steering nob would help ??? I also posted in another section and it sounds like the KK has the same seating position, I,m just gonna have to go down to carmax and take a test drive. Looks like the KK has more storage inside,. I also dig the double din radio for aftermarket selection, the sky slider and apparently it gets 2 more MPG. Would prefer to keep my 06 renny since going to a used KK would still cost me thousands of dollars more.

I love my Liberty; although, I didn't buy it to be a daily driver or commuter. I bought it because I live in mountainous terrain at higher elevation and see lots of snow. Plus, my backyard is a national forest, so we need a slightly modified Jeep to get us around. My point is that overall comfort was not of high priority when purchasing the Liberty. If I were looking for comfort, and I still wanted a Jeep, then I would either buy a 4 door Wrangler or Commander. I'm not impressed with the KK. I haven’t driven the new Grand Cherokee, so I can’t speak on that.

I love my KK, it's exactly the right vehicle for me.

The KKs seats are bit wider then the old KJ ones, and provide more support. Add to that the fact that the rear seats fold completely flat and the rear storage is larger, and for someone like myself, it was a better purchase then say, an Unlimited Wrangler. Also, it's less "soft and round" than the old KJ. (Although I prefer the KJ grille and headlamps. The Limited KK's look like they were wearing granny glasses with those chrome grilles that wrap around the headlamp bezel. I bought a sport model.) One thing I really like about the KKs is the highway handling. On regular road, it's about as rough as a wrangler. but get it out on the highway and it smooths right out. Nice soft ride, very comfortable, no hint of the "squirrely-ness" of the wranglers.

If you're looking for a luxury ride though, the Commander is a better choice. The Liberty is a mid-market vehicle, and feels like one. But as long as you aren't expecting luxury ride or appointments, and just want a solid practical vehicle that you can take on the trail when you want, the Liberty is a great choice.

I drove a KK last year when I went up to chicago as a rental. Driving was a tad more refined (not a plus for me) and the interior was different as well, but I felt squished and out of place in the KK. But I will say its a pretty nice jeep but Im a KJ man if I drive a liberty.

Thats opinion based though. Personally I prefer the KJ seats to the commander, but both pale in comparison to GC seats.
