I guess it comes down to what you want to spend
I can't say much since i did purchase Troys used RL sliders but as soon as I saw they were for sale I had to have them since they are the best IMO
JCR since I tried calling and writing to them about their goof on the front leg and nothing left me with do they really care. Must not since they are still like that
another Just sayin
and no I am not against other companies making parts but make them that fit right and if there is a problem listen to the customers out there using them

I have JCR’s front and rear bumper (with tire carrier) on my 2000 Cherokee and the fitment was perfect. From what I’ve heard about JCR, if you buy a product and it’s not correct, they will send out a replacement part at no cost to the buyer. With that being said. I know that Rock Lizard has put a lot of time into the design and fitment for the Jeep Liberty. I would feel more confident buying KJ/KK parts from Rock Lizard than I would JCR who are XJ gurus. Just sayin’.

Stating facts is all
Yes they are OK but again there are problems with the way they bolt on regarding the front leg. Buggin got a response, I called and also emailed with no response. My suggestions to make a better product which fit was ignored so it is what it is.
Would I buy them for my own KJ, NO
Would I suggest them to someone else if they wanted a lighter duty rockrail, yes but with an explanation as to what the problem is
Anyone who knows me can tell you I don't believe in mixing words, it is what it is and if I don't think its good then I tell it that way

There is a 2 inch diameter hole ( from the factory ) where they have one of the bolts positioned.
Same on the KKs as well

Yes - that does sound like an issue! I am surprised that they haven't addressed it.

Was at rausch creek this past weekend and they got their moneys worth. Held up the jeep under their own power without bending or breaking even with my aluminum mounts. Plus they saved me some scratches from rocks and give me.a high lift mount for when my tire gets a cut in the sidewalk. Ask me how I know.

That's good news for sure. I also don't fear the strength of mine, I know with the way I fixed the hole problem and having them mounted nice and tight I know they will be just fine. The build quaility of the rails is very nice, no doubt. The only thing I am going to do different is when I get my grubby paws on a welder I am going to fab and weld on a new front mounting plate to totally eliminate the hole issue. Even though I do not fear the current strength of them, it's just something that's buggin me :jester: :JEEPIN:

Also good to know that they can be used as a jacking point for a hilift or whatever.

@ irollgen4s - You sliders are installed incorrectly. The pinch seam mount on the sliders needs to be positioned on the inside of the factory pinch seam. As said previously, it's better to have spacers at the pinch seam that spacers at the main uniframe. I wish you would have contacted us about your issues, we want your product to fit and be installed correctly. If you want to get them installed correctly, shoot us an email and we can figure out what is need for the pinch seam.

@ Hole Issue /fit issue - We really have sold less than 10 sets total of the KJ sliders and just sent the first NON prototype KK sliders out the door yesterday. We have been contacted by 1 person about the hole overlap and no other issues. If there are more issues than this, it would be helpful to know. If you have our sliders and have had fit issues, please contact us. info@jcroffroad.com. We want to get this stuff to correct, but with such a small sample size and no real feedback, we have to assume things are okay.

not to start anything but I know for a fact that BugginKJ contacted you after we installed his. I also sent an email and made a phone call which got no where. Never found out who I talked to but they said there were no issues. I was trying to help you with future problems.
No I do not own a set of yours but two of the (less than) ten sets have been installed in my garage, plus the KK prototype set is at my place every few weeks. Also has the same problem by the way.

When building these you had to have seen there was a hole where one of the bolts had to go, why was this not addressed during the build process? Thats been my issue all along, you mounted at least a set on a KJ and another on a KK yet that hole was never noticed ?

Not knocking that you are building parts for KJs/KKs just that little things are let to slip by.
Just sayin'

We took a piece of metal that would slide back in the hole, and with a self tapping bolt through the bracket and metal plate slid it gingerly back in while holding everything in place.
It covers the hole and provides "some" support

@Brimy, at this point my sliders are already powdercoated and installed in a way that we could make them work. We tried the inside of the pinch weld seam, and that gave us an extra 1/8 and inch, when i was half an inch too short to the main beam in front, and 3/4 too short in the back. in other words, it still wouldnt of gotten them nearly close enough. By putting them on the outside it made it exactly 1/2" in front and exacty 3/4" in back, which allowed us to fit 1/4" inch plates that my dads shop had in, to take up the ginormous gap.

I also had the hole mounting issue, so i only have it mounted by 3 in front and 3 in back on both sides. If you would like, i could take detailed close up pictures for you while i hold up a measuring tape next to it, but there is no way in hell im taking these off just to measure/check clearances. I was going to contact you, but the reason i didnt is because i needed them installed for an offroad trip, i would rather have my rig somewhat protected then going through the process of returning my ALREADY powdercoated sliders and getting a non powdercoated pair that i have to send and pay for again.

with that being said, they are built awesome. Despite the mounting, they held up under the full weight of the jeep, got banged around a bit and have no dents or deformations either. :2cents:

Yes correct, thanks.
Which is why once I get a welder or I should say, once some one I know gets a welder :jester: I am going to fab and weld on a new longer plate that will also have a gusset. :JEEPIN:
I do also think Brimy is sayin I was the one person that contacted him regarding the issue of the hole. Great product and I would install another set with out thinking twice. :JEEPIN:

So I took the plunge and ordered my set today. I am not really that concerned about the hole issue, I am pretty sure I can remedy that. As long as the rails are built well and I don't run into anymore issues when installing. *keeps fingers crossed*

JCR sliders are cheaper... and i like the stage 3 bar better then the super skink bar.
Rock Lizard super skink's are built much better and appear to install better

unlimited budget i'd buy RL...
tight budget i'd 'settle' for JCR's...

or.. id wait the extra 6 months to save for the RL... which is what i'd do in reality (if i didnt just order a RL roof rack  )

bottom line...

ANY rock rails are better then none... and RL or JCR are both WAY WAY WAY better then my factory renegade rails (although they have saved my jeep many times.. and i've straightened them on a frame machine many times)

UPS arrived with my early christmas present. These things are heavy, much more stout then I expected. I took some quick measurements and looks like things will line up just fine. Front arm inside pinchweld to framerail was 10 1/4 with about 1/8 gap to the actual pinch seem. Rear measured 8 1/4 with same gap.

I have never painted bare steel so dont know how I should prep it but I was thinking of using Herculiner to coat them. Anyone have experience with this product?
