Hi I was driving on the way home and my 2006 CRD just died like the ignition was turned off. I discovered fuse 14 blown.

14 10 amp Red PDC Fuel Pump/AC Clutch, Starter Relay/Engine Controller/Transmission Controller (Diesel Only)

I replaced the fuse and in lasted about 2 miles before popping again. I got the jeep home and now I got to figure out whats wrong. I found nothing in a search so far. Any idea where to look next??

Thanks

Mike

Update I got a P0700 now and the airbag light is also on. It idled in the driveway to 15 minutes no problem.

Sounds like you have a wire harness chafed and a wire shorting to the chassis. Check the big bundle going up behind the fuel filter.

X2 :SOMBRERO:
This applies mostly to 06 model year because they raised the fuel filter to clear the larger ABS pump for traction control. That places the wire bundle below the beveled section of the fuel head bracket that was meant to protect the bundle :juggle:
You can slit a section of fuel line and slip it over the sharp edge to prevent it :JEEPIN:

Seems like this is common enough for the 06s that I ought to add it to the noob guide. Does anyone have some good pictures or does someone with good pictures and knowledge want to make a PSA that I can add to the noob guide?

Sam

I have sent a picture to your Colorado4wheel address.
It clearly shows the hose I added and the bundle.
