2006 Liberty CRD Limited in Idaho $12000

I'm hoping to find my faithful Jeep a good home in the next couple of weeks - otherwise, it will suffer being traded in at the dealership. The car has 87000 miles on it today, and is located in eastern Idaho.

I'm the original owner, and this has been a great car and has had no problems. The dealer replaced the front window rubbers which were causing the windows to stick - there never has been a need for any other repairs. Of course, the LOST board has been a super resource for me.

Here's the info: 2006 Limited. Build date 4/1/06. Dark blue. Grey cloth seats are covered with the Jeep neoprene covers.

Factory options: Side air bags, trailer tow package, block heater.
Mopar accessories: Neoprene seat covers (black), tow hooks, mud flaps.
Other: Fumoto oil drain valve, Samco CAC hoses, Weatherguard slush mats, recent brakes and shocks (Bilstein rear, KYB front), Firestone airbags rear.

Tires: AT-Revo 245/70-16, plus, four Blizzak 225/75-16 mounted on factory aluminum wheels. The spare wheel is the Renegade style dark gray five spoke.

Big box-o-spares: 4 Air, 5 Oil, 2 Fuel filters, all Wix. 5 1/2 gallons of Amsoil 5-40 diesel oil. CAT 2 micron fuel filter kit with filter, never installed. SEGR kit, never assembled.

Cosmetically it's in good shape, with no dents or dings. The windshield is cracked, I'd replace it after next spring's rock season if I were to keep the car.

If you've got some serious interest, please PM me. I could arrange a meet-up in eastern Idaho. Let's talk soon.

I would be interested if you had been running the SEGR you have, but never installed. Unfortunately, without it and with the number of miles on it, the intake manifold is probably pretty plugged at this point. Cleaning it is VERY expensive because it involves taking apart most of the top end of the motor.

How does it run?

Many CRD's have been purchased without the segr and many more CRD's have been known to run perfect without cleaning the intake.

Don't let that scare you.

The car runs great. It's strange, I have NOT experienced many of the most popular faults that are reported here. I guess this car was built on a good day!

The ORM has been run since very early, maybe 2000 miles from new. I obtained Samco CAC hoses to avoid any failed hose issues, and installed at ~70000 miles. At that time, the OEM hoses only had an oily coating, were not lousy with oil as many have reported, and the hoses aren't spongy - in fact, I've bagged 'em up and have them in my spares box. Maybe the use of 5w-40 (I use Amsoil diesel oil) rather than the 0w-40 has kept the oil suckage down?

The only air-in-fuel issue occurred early, with an odd surging at steady speed. I'd have to pump with the hand pump and bleed the air to correct this. The factory original fuel filter was very tight - I would say it had been overtightened - and after the initial filter change there has never been any air to bleed.

We tow our small camping trailer a good deal, ~2200 lbs all up, and yet have never experienced the torque converter "shudder". Of course you have to outwit the transmissions shifting behavior; the GDE transmission tune would be a worthwhile upgrade.

I would surely consider it, if I were in the market for one.
