Installed the inline thermostat this morning. All went well and temp is exactly one tick left of middle. The only question I have is there is a kink on the radiator side of the hose exiting the thermostat where the S bend goes down. I cut a half inch off the hose but the kink is still there. The flow is not fully cut off but hose definitely not round. Will this cause a problem in the future. I was thinking of getting another S hose of the same height and cutting the ends to bring the bottom bend closer to the radiator. Thoughts? Thanks!

A significant kink is not good but I don't know how much of a kink you actually have. arengant says install the tstat housing touching the radiator outflow which takes about 2" of the existing hose and that 2" of hose was cut off. I think that means 2" in addition to that piece needed between the housing and the tstat but looking at the words on paper I realize I'm not positive.

Take at look at arengant's picture at viewtopic.php?f=5&t=63264&start=60 and see if that helps.

i cut about 2 inches off the t stat side and then another inch off the radiator side to remove the kink.

It also is rotated, IIRC toward passenger side, to get rid of the kink.

Thanks all. I took a half inch from the radiator side and the kink is gone. Works perfectly.
