Can we do this north of the border?

Hopefully, but do we have someone readily available to provide the required credentials? I don't... Alternate scenario in my case would be if Mr. GDE handles it south of the border, could always have it delivered somewhere near the border, so I could pick it up fairly easily.

True. I forgot about this. I live on an island so this is not feasible.

BTW, OldSkull is from Quebec. Maybe you could save some money shipping\driving if you team up.

Squeeto - ferry ride is cheap and beautiful
(of course all of Victoria is beautiful)

you do have to put up with the stupid Passport thing at the border
and you're not close to GDE - but there are some LOST folks around the Northeast - might be easier to work out.

squeeto

what about foot passenger on the US ferry??

I ask because most US border town have package depots who will receive things for you for a couple bucks and then dispose of the evidence (packaging) so that you go home with just what you drove over with(ie spares kit in the back). I use a depot up the valley which is actually walking distance from the border and walk across for mail is a valid purpose. Just remember that you will have to pay the 12% Horrible Sales Tax, and any duty if in fact the items are from other countries if you don't have a legitimate other reason to cover your incursion to the foreign nation.
