----------
Good Morning
I hope you are ready for a photographic journey this morning.
Disclaimer of sorts:
I've attempted to keep this BMN sized proportional to the values of the images, most of which are ~100Kb in either 1024X768px and 800X600px formats.
Nevertheless you've probably noticed the 2300Kb BMN Size this morning. Sorry about that. I hope you think it was worth it:

2011-X-Mas-Tree-trip Here we are heading up the hill toward Central Meadow. I say "we," but sadly this X-Mas Tree hunt is solo, just me and the two numskulls, seen running ahead to the right in the above image.

Skipping several photos ahead

2011-X-Mas-Tree-trip-La-Bajada-Jeep-interior-view – Time to head off into the woods. We can do this right? It is a Jeep, right?
Image
2011-X-Mas-Tree-trip-Jeep-37acres-exterior-view …. Swing around and take another picture of our wonderful Jeep in the fresh snow. It doesn't look too deep there. But coming up that hill back there was still challenging. I think there is a term, "Driven snow," which refers to the snow pushed into drifts by the wind.

2011-X-Mas-Tree-trip-37Acres-Jeep —- Christmas tree atop our Little Black Jeep.
Now it is off to the location where I can trim some branches from Fir trees for wreathes.
Image
2011-X-Mas-Tree-trip-Deep-Dark-Woods-Jeep-Tracks ——— I crossed this meadow a couple times to break the drifts.
You can see where the Jeep skid plate dragged on the snow. This makes the snow ten inches deep here.
I was wearing hiking boots, which wasn't a great idea, because when I stepped out of the Jeep the snow went over the tops, brrr.

Nice pics Boss. We did the Christmas tree cutting trip one year while living in Los Alamos. That was back before the Cerro Grande fire however.
