Sprays for cleaning out turbo?

Ok could I just spray this stuff with motor running into the turbo?

Are blades part of the vanes that stick

The vanes are on the exhaust side. It might work if the turbo was off and you could spray into the turbine housing to remove excess soot.

That is for gassers, I believe that if you spray that stuff in the intake of your diesel .... you may need a new engine.

Nissan you keep experimenting with your CRD and your going to mess something up pretty soon.

Just warm it up to operating temp, find an on ramp or similar slope, full throttle gun it up that slope 2-3 times. Free italian tune-up to free any sticky vanes (clean MAP before doing so).

I agree 100% with racertracer... never spray ANYTHING into the intake of a diesel, running or not. I have seen broken rings and bent rods in VW diesels as a result of this. It almost ALWAYS breaks rings in those...

The web site said safe for diesels and turbos. I will pull turbo first if spraying into fan will have poor results.

Don't do it. Like I said, I have seen bad things happen to diesels spraying anything into the intake. Don't believe what they tell ya. It's not worth the risk of destroying an expensive engine in my opinion, but hey, it's your motor...

Hydrolock?

In part, yes. Also, just as with ether, it could ignite too soon, or too violently (I am using poor explination of this I realize), and can cause the piston rings to break. I just tore down a Volvo diesel (VW/Audi engine) that someone hydrolocked in a puddle and then tried seafoam to fix :roll:

One cylinder suffered a bent rod, likely from the original hydrolock, two other cylinders had broken top compression rings, most likely from the seafoam. Not good.

Any of these procedures however are really not necessary. The easiest and safest way to un-stick stuck VNT vanes is what has already been posted, just take out for a few WOT runs up a steep hill to get the turbo good and hot, any soot deposits will either be blown out or burn right off.

Probably 80% of the problems people have out of these CRD's come from the boy racer crowd doing stupid stuff in the name of "fixing" something that isn't broken. Want to know the #1 rule for getting longevity out of anything mechanical? DON'T KEEP SCREWING WITH IT!!!

Turbos need to be driven hard to avoid sticking VNT mechanisms and vanes. Especially on sooty diesels. Drive it like you stole it, and give it a good Italian tune up once in awhile. Over 10 years modding diesels and the ones with the most problems I saw where the ones that where not driven hard by Granny or Gramps... :roll:
