Pics of how you mounted an inline lift pump

I've got all the pieces together to install a GM lift pump, but can't decide on whether to mint it on the frame rail back by the tank for better reliability, or up in the engine bay for easier install and servicing. For anyone who's installed an inline route pump, how did you go about mounting it?

I've not mounted mine yet, 2nd gen fuel head took care of air problem, but I've "collected" methods. The ideal place is on the frame back near the tank. See for example http://liberty.eurekaboy.com/kennedy.htm . Others have mounted in the engine bay and found that doing so works fine. See for example viewtopic.php?f=5&t=64097&p=708682&hilit=battery+pump#p708682 . I've seen no chat that indicates one location is functionally better than the other so when/if I mount mine it will probably be in the engine bay just because it's easier to do so.

I suspect the lack of functional difference is because we are using the in-line pump as a suppliment to the existing pump not as a primary pump. If the in-line was the primary pump I suspect the frame mount would be the functionally better location.

I've installed mine (Facet Gold-Flo) next to the tank. Elevation had to be less than 24" for the pump to work efficiently, less stress pulling fuel from the tank as only a relatively low positive pressure is required upfront toward the engine. Also, that kind of encourage me to drop the tank and replace the fuel line quick-connect fittings going fore & aft. These are prone to failure and can let air get into the lines...

How I did mine and it is still going. I used one of the Skid Plate threaded mounting holes:

Rubber Isolation reduces the thumping noise the Solenoid type pump creates. The GM 6.5L Turbo had a good isolation system, but the Liberty is challenged for space.

Here's mine using the battery tie down bolt for a mount. I used isolation mounts and stainless fittings from mcmaster Carr.

I got one more question.........what hose size do I need to get to fit everything? This pump is threaded for 1/4" npt and comes with 3/8" house barbs.

I used 3/8 inch sae 30r9 fuel injection hose.

You have any idea what kind of pressures your seeing at the fuel head? I plan on adding a pressure gauge to the threaded port of the bleed screw once I take it out.

I haven't check mine, but my facet pump is supposed to put out 4-7 psi.
