Hi All
My 2.5 CRD is pumping out clouds of light blue smoke on start up, this happens on both cold and hot starts but does eventually clear after a couple of embarrassing miles.
I suspect oil is somehow getting into the exhaust while running or on shut down, then being burnt when I fire up again.
Just wondered if anyone may have had a similar problem or possibly point me in the right direction to find what is wrong.
Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Phil

mine does it on cold start up for a about 20 seconds. Real light blue/white smoke. The only time I get a long trail of blueish smoke is if I have long idle times when hot (25 min plus). Im suspecting a turbo seal is going. Haven't got to dig into it yet. I don't see any oil consumption tho. But it will clear after about 2-3 blocks

Burning a small amount of oil at startup.

Start by cleaning your injectors with a quality diesel solvent added to the fuel and directly into the fuel filter, it could be an easy thing like a dirty injector or upper cylinders needing some cleaning.

Hi
thank you for your advice, on reading several other posts on here I was starting to suspect a dodgy injector. I'm off to buy some injector cleaner now, thanks again for the help and advice, very much appreciated.
