Figuratively; that's one per year, but in reality I had 4 installed last year and this is my first this year :) its a good thing I have a glass waiver on my insurance policy. It's totally free every time... Minus the tip for the guy :)

Soooooo how many of these have you guys gone through? I think it's because I drive too fast with no aerodynamics... Rocks don't roll of of our windshields like in a car...

I am on #2. The first one got hit with a pebble at 60 mph on the interstate. The rock did the damage between the interior and extrior part of the glass. You couldn't feel it from the inside or outside. Because of that, I couldn't repair it. It was cold that winter and it began to crack. Insurance wouldn't replace it until it got to like 6 inches or something. One REALLY cold morning, I started it up and put the heater on and when I pulled away, it made it to the magic number.lol

$50 deductable later and I had a new one.

Not the windshield, but the driver's side window. It took a chunk of concrete when some crackhead wanted to rummage for my 3 year old garmin. But that is what I get for parking in Brooklyn.

My windshield gets really hazy in cold rain. It is as if there is some film or etching on the outside. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a fix?

strange .. still on number one.

of course they use an excess amount of salt here, just a little sand, and no rocks  when the roads get slippery.

WOW! # 10, that's crazy! I am still on 1 as well. :) If you have have lost 10 windshields, have you ever had any experience with accident reconstruction? Seems like by doing all of that you would have!

Haha, I hear you man.
~83k, I think I'm on 4 or 5.
NYC sucks. That's what I'm blaming, lol.
The truck is going on five years, I think I'm up to par for NYC standards, haha.
I had three in one year.

#2 - first one fell victim to a kayak from the inside... I've repaired at least a dozen cracks and chips in my new one though with the $10 kit you can get at any auto store. If you address the cracks right away, they don't spread. It's really unavoidable in places like North Dakota, where 75% of the roads are gravel. Haven't had to repair since moving back to Wisco!

What was your Kayak doing on the inside!?!? Doh!

On number 2. replaced #1 in may due to pitting, and #2 has only been in since May, and it is already cracked and taken nasty rock chips... I think the second is not as good quaity as factory one was.

But now that I've said this, the windshield will shatter tonight when I get out to the parking lot after work.

Yep just jinxed yourself.
I , like I said replaced one, got a crack along the bottom 3 months later, now 3 years later the cracks still there. Doesn't bug me any , does 03CDKJ but not me :pepper:

On the KJ, I replaced about 6 or 7 windshields by 189k. On the KK, I was already on my 2nd one by 16k.

Colorado and Arizona are the states with the highest windshield replacement rates.

That being said, my XJ is on #4 or so and has been overdue for a replacement for about 1.5 years.
